I’m going to split this review into two parts: our stay (hotel and staff), and the dining/amenities. Our stay, the hotel and the team This is a beautiful hotel nestled in the mountains, with fantastic views and excellent access to both the ski piste and nearby walking routes. Our room itself was excellent. That said, it was located at the back of the hotel, so the outlook wasn’t great and the room felt quite dark. This wasn’t an issue for us as we mainly used it for sleeping and showering, but a few small additions would make a real difference—such as a small table and chairs, a mini fridge, and a kettle (the later Alex provided straight away when we asked). The pool and spa were great and exactly what I needed after skiing and for my wife who does not ski. We also appreciated the policy of wearing swimwear in the sauna/steam room areas, as we’re not fans of the mandatory nude spa culture you sometimes encounter in mountain regions near the Austrian border. Access to the piste is incredibly easy—less than a two-minute walk from the ski room. The ski room is well maintained and well equipped, with racks, boot storage and boot dryers. Ski in/ski out was straightforward and convenient. The skiing itself caters well for all abilities, and there are some good mountain restaurants too. Dining areas and food The food was first class throughout our stay. The staff were genuinely friendly, attentive, and couldn’t have done more for us. I also feel some of the previous reviews regarding children are out of context—during our stay, the staff were great with the kids who were there and clearly made them feel welcome. A special mention to Alex (the manager): he was outstanding. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and he went above and beyond for guests consistently. Areas for improvement A few points that could be improved: The pillows were disappointing and uncomfortable—this is an easy fix that would significantly improve the room experience. Additional staffing would help. Alex seemed run off his feet at times, and there was often no presence in the bar area. With someone available there, the hotel would likely generate more revenue and provide a better guest experience. The outdoor hot tub was out of order. It really should have been fixed and ready for use, particularly during peak season. It also needs levelling properly on a solid base, as it was noticeably leaning. Given we spent a lot to be there over Christmas, we would have loved a bit more festive atmosphere—twinkly lights and a Christmas tree in the restaurant area would have gone a long way, as it felt quite understated. None of the above should put you off—this is a superb hotel with an excellent manager, a fantastic team, and brilliant access to the mountains. We would definitely return. “Perfect Mountain Retreat - Peaceful Location with Easy Access to Town & Cable Car”

It was our first time in the area and we chose the hotel based only on the map and photos we found online. The hotel has a beautiful and quiet location in the mountains, away from any traffic. Unlike many hotels we’ve seen that are located close to mountain roads where traffic noise can be very disturbing, this hotel offers true peace and quiet. We slept with all windows wide open and woke up to the sound of a running river and singing birds. This was topped off by a wonderful German/Austrian breakfast buffet. From the hotel you can reach both the town and cable car station within a 10-minute walk, making it perfectly located to spend your day on the mountain top. We definitely recommend this hotel.

On first appearances it is very quaint with traditional but clean rooms, the service is a little lacking, only one option in the evening restaurant they let you know on the morning and only served until 7pm so we ate out both nights we stayed. On first appearances it is very quaint with traditional but clean rooms, the service is a little lacking, only one option in the evening restaurant they let you know on the morning and only served until 7pm so we ate out both nights we stayed. We did use the bar and the barman was very friendly and gave good service and wine recommendations. I don't think we would stay again but it wasn't a terrible stay for the money.
