“Pleasant & quiet stay near heart of the city”

STAFF: Staff greeted us with a warm welcome. Check in was fast. CLEAN: The room was spotless. All units, TV, toilet and bath areas were clean and dust free. No dirty marks on walls etc Bed linen was clean with no marks. Communal areas were clean and tidy. SLEEP: Bed was exceptionally comfortable. Blackout curtains ensured only small amount of light entered the room. The hotel was mostly quiet apart from one amorous couple who were a bit noisy from 4am till 5:15am and then again 6:20am until 7am. We were just dropping off again when people started walking past the room talking at around 8am. FACILITIES: The room was nicely decorated. There was a double bed with soft pillows and a small side unit on either side. There were bedside sockets and a phone. In a separate area there was a small unit with chair and mirror. There was a drawer on the left side of the unit which contained a hairdryer and a book on Manchester. Below this was an area with a kettle and various hot drink options, bottles of water and biscuits. There was also a large TV with remote. The bathroom consisted of a bath with a built in shower and a toilet beside. The bathroom was bigger than most bathrooms in this chain that we have visited. The only drawback was the shower gel and shampoo containers were so close to the shower that when having a shower the water washed the soap off your hands before you had a chance to apply it. ATTRACTIONS: Home – cinema, theatre, museum Museum of science and industry Great Northern- Cinema, Bars Gay village – nightlife Playhouse – Theatre O2 – Music venue Arndale centre – shopping mall There is a tram from Deansgate tram stop which takes you directly to the Trafford centre (shopping mall) Old Trafford (Man utd football ground) and Media city which is home to BBC and ITV studios, Lowry shopping mall, Lowry theatre and the Manchester War museum (take either the Eccles or media city trams to media city) TRANSPORT: The hotel is within walking distance from Deansgate tram stop (5 minutes), Deansgate train station (7 minutes) Playhouse (7 minutes) City centre (10 minutes) Piccadilly train station (15 minutes)

“Great location but substandard rooms.”

Brilliant location for Bridgewater Hall. Now on to the rooms - ours was dirty, bath not cleaned properly, genital hair in one of the beds, dusty, carpet all stained, generally just not clean. Brilliant location for Bridgewater Hall. Now on to the rooms - ours was dirty, bath not cleaned properly, genital hair in one of the beds, dusty, carpet all stained, generally just not clean. I raised it to the staff member on duty on Friday night and the other 2 rooms we were offered were also dirty so we had to stay put. The attitude of this member of staff was not the best. I actually asked for cleaning materials to clean it myself. Never heard any more the whole trip. Breakfast was not the best. Some staff were friendly, others looked like they did want to be there. The bar staff there on the Sat night were great. No apology from any staff re the room. The hotel needs a revamp and a good clean! Very over priced for what it is.

We have stayed at this hotel on numerous occasions while in Manchester and always found it to be great and staff really friendly and helpful. On this occasion we were accommodated on the first floor and we found that the corridor up to our room was very dusty and need a good vacuum. It actually looked like the walls and skirting boards had been sanded down to repaint. If this is the case it would make it look so better as it needs a refresh of paint and also in the bedrooms where there are stains/marks on the walls.

“Average”

Rooms were okay but quite small and dated. We were on the 6th floor and had a view of absolutely nothing. Rooms were okay but quite small and dated. We were on the 6th floor and had a view of absolutely nothing. Bathroom is a good size and the showers are average, the toilet in room 613 is stained with fake tan (as someone who doesn’t fake tan I wonder how difficult it is to get out). They do have air con but you may as well leave the window open bevause it does more. In comparison to Leonardo Piccadilly the one at Piccadilly is nicer by far and has so much this one doesn’t. Piccadilly is also closer to the co-op live which was the purpose of the trip. Staff are lovely, and really friendly. In reception there is a wall of snacks and drinks and things you may have forgotten to bring with you such as toothpaste and tampons. This is good if you are only staying for 1 night and not expecting to spend time in the room but if that’s your plan I advise you stay in the leonardo Piccadilly.
