We have just returned from a wonderful holiday at Creta Maris, and would highly recommend. We booked an adults area room and were kindly upgraded to a sea view adult room, which was truly beautiful combining traditional Cretan design with modern style. The exclusive adults only section was absolutely worth the extra cost, it really is an entire wing of the hotel with 4 pools, seating areas, own part of the beach, pool bar & it’s complete own dining hall at the main buffet. You can view entertainment programmes & buffet theme nights on the app, which helped us select which days we wanted to book the à la carte restaurants (also done via the app at 8am the day prior). Some of the activities such as darts, football & Greek cooking lesson are for 16+ only which was a nice touch. The food at Creta Maris is easily the best we have had in any hotel abroad, fantastic variety of choice in the buffet restaurants (including lunch which at some all inclusives can be very predictable) and phenomenal food in the à la carte restaurants too. In the main buffet there is a whole station dedicated to vegetarian and vegan cuisine, and everything is very clearly labelled with allergens. Like another recent review has mentioned, my only negative is the hotel photographers were very persistent, waiting outside entrance doors and walking round sunbeds to engage people into photoshoots. I think because the hotel was quiet we just seemed to bump into them all the time, but after on 3 occasions saying we didn’t really want a photoshoot, we did feel forced into booking just so we would stop being asked! That said, some of the photos were really lovely, but when we went to buy a few (some of the big packages can be up to €300/€400!) we were told it was cash only, so be wary of this. I would like to say a special thanks to Kalliopi and Eva who looked after us in the Enomy restaurant, and the fabulous Nini for his exceptional hospitality and enthusiasm in the entertainment programmes. We don’t usually return to hotels but I would happily come back to Creta Maris for either an adults only or family holiday.

“Beautiful Resort, take me back!”

I stayed at The Creta Maris 1st-10th May. Wife and 3 kids! If you have a family, this resort is perfect. Other than the first to days of weather, it has been hard to find fault with this venue. We even booked an extra two days. We never do that! We had an interconnecting room up by the Terra area. Ideal as close to the heated pool. Spacious, clean, lovely views.. perfect. The grounds are lovely, rustic and traditional - lined with flowers and foliage. The resort is big but my 5 year old had no issues walking around the resort. The layout is well thought out and never far away from a bar or pool. The beach is at your front door! The only niggle is the kids splash park… not heated.. very cold in May but possibly in the summer months it will be ok. The heated pool is vast and geared up for kids which was handy. Plenty of choice at the buffet, mixing it up each day. Plenty of variety at the À la carte restaurants, nothing mind blowing but some of the settings and views were beautiful. Mademi in particular was spectacular. People complained about the app and booking restaurants. Book a day in advance at 8am and it’s fine. They also have staff at breakfast to assist the more Technology challenged. Staff are all friendly and greet you with a smile. My kids enjoyed kids club each day and it gave us a nice rest.. ideally they could put a mini disco on for them every night. Not much going on for them until 9pm with shows etc. Maybe that’s seasonal. In summary this hotel was everything I could have asked for in a resort. Coming from somebody who reads 100s of reviews on here, honestly if you are that person too, trust me this hotel will not disappoint. Last tip, don’t bother with the coach transfers if you get the option, you will be 5/6 stops away and it takes an hour or so. We hopped in a taxi on the way back. Thank you for a memorable holiday! A decent hotel with a vast amount of facilities for families. We went with one 2 year old and one 6 month old. - Nice grounds and it was all kept nice and clean - Few different restaurants. A decent hotel with a vast amount of facilities for families. We went with one 2 year old and one 6 month old. - Nice grounds and it was all kept nice and clean - Few different restaurants. Some of which were Good, others not so good. Seafood one was disappointing - I expected maybe some lobster/crab/ more variety on menu. Also the service and attitude of the staff in this one was not good at all. We waited over an hour for our food, in the pooring rain with a young family - not acceptable. - Decent facilites for young kids to be fair - Baby room and Kids Club. Arcade, playground, etc. - Surprised the family room had a couple of dangerous steps in the room. Not where i would personally choose to put a young family - rooms are not baby safe etc. Apart from that the bathroom could do with towel rails as there is nowhere to hang towels. - Overall the food was Pretty good - although some hotels do nice omelette stations and stuff where you can choose your own omelette/eggs etc. for breakfast. Kind of missed that personal touch. - Most Pools were cold which was disappointing, there is one heated a little bit, but would be nice if others were too! - Also they don't really know how to make coffee at the hotel. If you like coffee don't expect a decent cofee. If you go, you will probably have a good time - just a few issues really, Thanks so much and have a great day.
