The room was extremely functional, it had everything that I required. The level of cleanliness was extremely good as well. It's well positioned for public transport links 👍

“THE best location for skiers”

If you’re going to Encamp to ski, this is the place to stay. The Funicamp (gondola lift) that in 20 minutes or so takes you right up to the heart of the amazing Grandvalira ski system is basically next door. Encamp is small but has extreme elevation differences within - staying in a hotel in the center (lower laying) part of town means you either have to take a shuttle bus or taxi to the Funicamp or hike long, steep streets and stairs to get there. So, for skiers the location of the Shusski couldn’t be better. The drawback about the location is that there are just a few (and fairly sad looking) restaurants close by. Lots of restaurants can be found down hill in the center of town, but the walk/”climb” back up is arduous. There’s a fairly good supermarket just a couple of minutes away, though (it carries essentials such as fresh bread, dairy products, sausages and cheese, snacks, fruit and vegetables, alcohol and tobacco). We grade the overall standard of the hotel a 3/5. The beds were uncomfortable, the WiFi agonizingly slow (sometimes practically non existant) and kitchen gear was lacking (no cutting board??! no proper oven, the microwave and the stove top worked fine, though). Breakfast and dinner was included in our deal/stay. Breakfast was very nice (variety of cheeses and cold cuts, yoghurt, pancakes, bread, jam, fruit, scrambled eggs, bacon, juice, coffe etc). For dinner we were offered 3 options for starters, 3 options for mains and 3 options for desserts, with the options changing every evening. The food was ok/average - no more, no less. Drinks were not included but reasonably priced (small glass of wine or a soda €2,50). The hotel is located along the main road that runs through Andorra from Spain to France. This is great because there are bus stops (for the local bus to the capital and the bus to/from Barcelona Airport) very close by, and not so great because of the traffic noise. We asked for, and got, a room on the calm back side, with a nice balcony overlooking the town/valley :) The town of Encamp was a great option for our family since one of us doesn’t ski and wanted options for spending the day. The bus to the capital Andorra La Vella takes 20 minutes, runs every 15 minutes and was €1,70. Encamp in itself has some worthwile sights, too (The Casa Cristo museum, Les Bons historical area). Plenty of places to rent skis are found very close by (discount offered if you stay at the Shusski), ski lockers available in the basement. The tourist office is just by the entrance to the Funicamp. Last but not least - the staff of the Shusski was LOVELY! The desk clerks were super friendly and helpful (they will help you figure our the bus schedule, make a restaurant reservation, suggest places to visit in the capital, mail a post card for you etc) and the waiting staff in the restaurant was great. /The Ström family from Eslöv, Sweden

Spent a couple day solo, hiking late August early September. The appartement are very nice, and cozy. The couple that were at the reception were super friendly and helpful. Just a couple minuses: I had an appartement facing the major street and it is noisy even late night with the cars driving by especially if you like sleeping with the windows open to get the mountains fresh air. I recommend asking for a appartement facing the other side(village view). The second; the shower had a few spot of mildew, perhaps because not being used a lot in summer and the hair dryer is so old! If you have long hair and need to throughly dry them, bring yours! Overall I would say it was good. The location is nice, close to everything on foot.

I chose value for money for an off-season (May) break and it met my expectations. Apartment hotel geared for skiers but open all year. Basic fiurnishings, crinkly plastic under your sheet, good shower. Kitchenette microwave lacked turntable (so useless); free wifi server blocked more than half the websites I wanted including Google and BBC (and Andorra tourism !). Parking very cramped - with few guests I used 2 spaces so was fine. But would be no fun at all if there were plenty of guests trying to park. Prominent no smoking signs in the room but the place stank of tobacco. Encamp isn't a trendy part of Andorra so you need wheels to go elsewhere. Plenty of buses in ski season but bring a car otherwise. Basic supermarket two minutes' walk up the road. Would I recommend ? No - if I come back to Andorra I'll stay somewhere else. But it's just about OK.
