Fantastic holiday from start to finish we don’t want to go home 😔 the animation team were amazing from the second we arrived at the pool they were fantastic with the kids, Wayne, Goofy and Madi were especially amazing always making time for the kids and helping with anything we needed. The rooms were lovely and always clean the food was really nice from the snack bar to the panini bar to the restaurant. Entertainment in the evening was amazing really enjoyed it. We will definitely return 🥰

This was our first time in Tunisia and I am already looking to go back later this year. We stayed as a couple with no children and visited out of school holidays but there were toddlers and younger children about. Room: Our room was in Manar 1 on the 5th floor looking over the relax pool. I think all the rooms in Manar 1 are sea facing. The room was a lovely size with a nice balcony. The bathroom was a bit awkward getting into the shower over the bath and the water leaked a bit. Having a separate toilet with no sink was a bit strange. The bed was solid but we are used to that so found it comfortable. We didn’t have robes or slippers but not sure if we were supposed to. Water was in 2l bottles and sometimes we had sparking water. We’d pick up a bottle from the bar if we needed more. Having USBs next to the bed meant we didn't use our travel plugs, although it was slow charging. Our room was cleaned well including floor being mopped every day. There was a plate of fruit the first day and sometimes a flower would be left. Pools and beach: The beach was nice although the red flag was up all the time. We'd spend the morning at the beach and after lunch go to the relax pool. We found the music too loud at the Manar 2 pool. We never had a problem with sunbeds, the lifeguards will get one sorted for. you if you need one. I did find it strange that the relax pool was next to the tennis and football courts, but the sound of tennis balls being hit back and fore was soothing. The indoor pool was full of children when we went and since it’s small we didn’t stay long. Food: We'd have breakfast and dinner at the buffet and lunch at the snack bar. We agreed it was one of the best AI buffets we've had. There were multiple fresh cooking stations around the room including a fresh dessert station. The doughnut dessert was to die for. We didn’t have a problem with tepid food, it was all a good temperature. At lunch we’d have the rotisserie chicken or the turkey shawarma or a pizza which was the lightest fluffiest pizza I’ve ever had. Bars and nightlife: This is where the hotel fails. There are only two bars in the evening. The one in Manar 2 never had anyone there when we went for a walk and passed through and the main one in Manar 1 is the lobby bar and just felt like you were waiting for a bus or something. It had no atmosphere even when the pianist was playing. We went to a show one evening but the rest of the time we’d have a quick drink after food and then back to the room to watch a film. If they’d just have the snack bar bar open for a few hours after dark it would be lovely. You have to watch with the cocktail menu as you have to pay for some of the cocktails. The Manar Spritz and the frozen cocktail were lovely but the pina colada was horrid. Staff: The staff were the best. We did tip a little here and there but they would recognise what we’d had previously and bring it to us. Once day I was too early for ice cream and asked if they had chocolate or vanilla, two days later the waiter randomly came and found me at the pool with one of each. That’s the level of service here. Other: There were plenty of toilets around and were kept clean and tidy. We changed UK pounds into dinars at reception as and when needed. We had a 06:30 pick up to go home and make sandwiches the night before but apparently the buffet was open at that time. I've read reviews about flies but there were none in early May.

Honest review of our 11 night stay. X2 adults and 4 year old. Pros - Very family friendly hotel - A traditional feel on arrival lovely decor - Balcony/sea view is well worth the upgrade, room was gorgeous, clean and great views/size of balcony. - Food was great! Was very surprised. Not had good previous experience with food in other hotels in Tunisia (ie ill) but there was plenty of choice in main buffet area. Lovely cafe outside area for food if you’re not wanting a large lunch. Nice sandwich bar. Ice cream for the kids. - Drinks choice was great. Water bottles on hand at every bar/restaurant and room fridge refilled everyday with still and sparkling water. - Staff overall very nice. Had no problems as such. - Kids club was brilliant! 10-12 and if they wanted afternoon 15-1700. Was a bit nervous to leave her but the kids entertainment staff were amazing with her, very kind and friendly. Also got her face painted everyday (be warned face paint isn’t easy to get off clothes). Not on a Monday. - We sat at the pool behind the slides as found the Main pool very loud and just not for us, slides were great fun!!!! Had an adults only pool/quiet which looked great. - Grounds are well kept. Flowers/ smells were gorgeous. Had rose, citrus and spices garden. Lots of jasmine that was amazing and smelt strong but lovely (although not great for hay fever bring antihistamines) - Shop: nice guy who owned it. Lots of trinkets, floties to get for the kids pool. Spare bits ie snacks, cosmetics if needed. - Entertainment was alright. Piano guy was lovely to sit before dinner. - Mini disco was great for kids 2030-2100. CONS: - no aircon in the room due to the time of year. Very warm in the room which was a bit uncomfortable at night. - Large door on the balcony was great to open for fresh air however, there was a nightclub (challenger I think it was) across the road which was playing music till 0430 in the morning that limited the ability to open the door. Also SO LOUD boy racers reving their engines to high dose at all hours of the night. Shame as the room was lovely and £500 upgrade cost. - Hotel advised to not put sun beds down before 9am to make it fair for space that was fine the first week however, my husband had to end up going down at 0630 in the morning to guarantee a sun bed as life guards were being bribed to secure sun beds for certain guests and putting towels down before 630 am. - Certain animation staff called us “lazy” because we didn’t want to partake in the loud activities ie foam party etc etc (this just isn’t our style hence why we sat out away from the main pool) we felt certain animation staff (NOT THE KIDS ENTERTAINMENT STAFF) were rude and we didn’t like that as we wished to relax when our daughter was in kids club. If I wanted to be involved in the activities I would do so. This put us off even wanting to get involved with them. - There was a large fight that broke out in the main restaurant between a Tunisian lady and a man which was very shocking as both sides were punching each other in front of children and no security came or were around and it was down to the restaurant staff to de escalate -which are mainly young boys at breakfast time. We felt security was VERY lacking. There was a few groups causing some turmoil, shouting / swearing at the top of their voices and being verbally disgusting and inappropriate in front of young children. Everyone’s up for a laugh on holiday and a good time but it made other adults feel uncomfortable, no security or managers of the hotel approached them to help diffuse any situation which spoilt some of our time. - Myself and my husband walked along the beach every morning, unfortunately couldn’t walk at long length; it wasn’t the cleanest and lots of camel poo around which put me off taking my daughter. Hotel area was cornered off and didn’t get hassled much from sellers but beach was dirty. Overall would recommend for a fun wee family break away. 😊
