We’ve just stayed here for 3 nights. I cannot speak highly enough of this hotel it’s just delightful. Tastefully decorated and spacious, in a great location on a quiet road but walkable to everywhere. We had an executive room - 502 on the 5th floor, really high standard and large with a big bed, bathroom with a huge bath and separate luxurious shower and separate loo. The rooms are extremely well equipped with complementary water, toiletries, tea and coffee making facilities, and a mini bar. Good WiFi throughout the hotel. The staff are all delightful, helpful and friendly. Special mentions for Marieta in the breakfast room, all the reception and concierge staff and the wonderful lady who have me an excellent 1 hour massage in the spa for £32! The hotel has an excellent spa with sauna, steam room and relaxation area. Treatments available and are of a high standard. The breakfast is excellent and plentiful with great cold selection of fruit, cereals, salad, cheeses, meats, home baked bread, jams ( including home made rose jam), croissants and cake. Also hot selection on eggs, meats, baked beans, vegetables and more. Juices are fresh not from a machine and every hot drink you could want. I don’t understand the reviews that criticise the food. There was lots and it was all lovely. The hotel was very quiet but they still put out a lavish spread. They even cooked scrambled eggs to order for my husband when he mentioned those on the buffet had gone a bit dry. Delightful 5 star hotel - perfect choice for a city break thank you.

“Excellent”

We stayed for 1 night 2 people for a business trip. Very big room with every amenity inside. Excellent breakfast and cleanliness. Staff very polite. I have nothing but great comments for this hotel. Totally recommend it.

I have mixed feelings about this hotel after my stay of 8 days. Lovely friendly warm welcome upon arrival and the staff were really nice people, helpful and just made me feel welcome throughout my stay. Room was large, clean (upon arrival), lovely full size bath, large shower cubicle, black out curtains, decent sized tv, small kettle, room safe and fridge. Window was full length and you could either open it fully or lock it half open so it's safe for children. Location is perfect, few minutes walk and your at the main tourist attractions and within minutes you have a few nice restaurants and a supermarket (Billa). Breakfast was standard European affair, Bacon,eggs,tomato etc cold cuts, cheeses, cereals including plant based milks but lacked any hot vegetarian/vegan meal. Nice quality and tasty food (if it's hot when you arrive). You need to get in early though, if you have a late morning then some of the dishes are looking bad and when the staff were asked for more fresh bread they said 'No' it was finished for the day. Several mornings some of the dishes had finished and were not restocked or they had been sitting since the start of service and weren't looking the freshest. Based on the above it's a great hotel for a short mid week stay however there were a few issues that sort of spoiled the experience. First, small issue - the bedroom has two 'night lights' one at floor level and one emergency light in the smoke detector, you could cover the floor light, but the 'emergency' light was quite bright and if your sensitive to light it's an inconvenience. Even the TV has a really bright light on which needs to be covered at night to get the room dark. (I know that a safety light is essential but when you have three lights on constantly at night it's too much.) The bed's are really comfortable and once I covered these 'night lights' the room was comfortable and silent. Upon arrival the room was really clean but we noticed that housekeeping started to skip cleaning and the room became pretty dusty at times. Next and my biggest problem, they are next door to a nightclub - I think they actually share a dividing wall. This nightclub has a licence until 6:30am Friday and Saturday. It was 4:30 before the music was turned off and I could sleep. When I asked about this the next day, they explained it's not part of the hotel and could only apologize. This wasn't just noise, it was loud bass and we thought the nightclub was in the same building due to the vibrations. Initially I was going to stay for 4 days but extended my stay as the location was perfect for me and it was easier for me to put up with the small inconveniences than moving hotel. Now upon checking out I had a bit of a problem with my bill and they explained that they charged on a 'per person' rate and not per room, so from what I understood I had an extra room that we could maybe have been moved to when we complained about the music? Now if it had only been one of the negative issues then you can overlook it, but when they add up then this just makes what should be a great stay into an average stay. (If your booking then maybe ask for a room at the other side of the building from the nightclub.) The staff are a credit to this hotel.
