I recently stayed at the Flamingo Cancun. While there were several aspects of the resort that I truly enjoyed, there were also a handful of frustrating issues that kept it from being a great experience. The Good: Location, Beach, and Staff The Views & Beach Front: You truly cannot beat the location. Being right on the beachfront was incredible, and the views from the resort are absolutely gorgeous. Cleanliness: The hotel itself was very well-maintained and kept clean throughout my stay. The Staff: The absolute highlight of the resort is the team working there. The staff members are incredibly friendly, helpful, and great at what they do. The Bad: First-Night Frustrations & Water Rationing. Room & Amenity Issues: My first night started off on the wrong foot. There was no lock on my hotel room door, and to make matters worse, the water was completely turned off by 10:00 PM. Bottled Water Rationing:The hotel tries to ration bottled water, limiting guests to only two bottles a day. In the Cancun heat, this is frankly ridiculous and highly inconvenient. The Food: Lacking Variety Mediocre Dining: If you are a foodie, you might be disappointed. The food was mediocre at best. There was a very limited selection to choose from, and the exact same menu over and over again every day. Also, 60 minutes wait time for food either in restaurant or room service. Value: I paid $1200 for two people. I will return for the beaches in Cancun but I’m thinking twice of staying in Flamingo. One last thing…. The seaweeds are left untouched to rot at the beach. Final Verdict If you are solely looking for a clean place to stay with great staff and a beautiful beachfront view, the Flamingo Cancun hits the mark. However, management really needs to address their maintenance issues, improve the food variety, and stop limiting basic necessities like drinking water for their guests.

Stayed for 2 weeks. Location was just in the middle. 20 minute walk to the clubs on the right of the hotel, ten minute walk to the left of the hotel was the shopping mall, casino and big wheel. Stayed for 2 weeks. Location was just in the middle. 20 minute walk to the clubs on the right of the hotel, ten minute walk to the left of the hotel was the shopping mall, casino and big wheel. You can get a 5 minute bus ride either way for 12 pesos. Hotel is really clean. Nice beds and restocked free mini fridge with beers water and cokes etc. Entertainment is pretty much non existent and food is repetitive and awful to be honest. The staff though are lovely and the bar staff are amazing. Don't go in the lagoon opposite as there is crocodiles in there and DO NOT walk back in the dark, from the clubs drunk and think it's a good idea to relieve yourself in a bush because the police will be on you in a second. Some young guys from the hotel got threatened with 3 days jail or pay the bribe of 1000 US Dollars. Tip wise it's fine to give the bar staff 20 pesos at the beginning of the day and same for the chambermaids cleaning your room. Obviously if you want to or can leave more then do it. All in all was a nice quiet clean hotel with quality staff. Just don't expect food and entertainment. The white sand and turquoise sea water will make you forget that any way. Enjoy

We’re currently on our last night here, leaving for home tomorrow: Location wise this hotel is down the road from a small party strip, across the road is a pharmacy and basic shop ( of which are very over priced.) The hotel is reasonably small compared to many in the area, the restaurant struggles to cope at breakfast time, and if like me all you want is a brew in the morning, you’ll be a long time waiting, if u get one at all ( they insist on serving tea and coffee, no machines) lunch offers food in restaurant, pizza by the sea and hotdogs and burgers at the main pool. A lot of the time the hotdogs were dry and looked like they’d been lay around all wk, and no burgers. The pizza was fresh and lovely, but Samuel liked to ignore you, he’d serve everyone before he’d come to us. Once he’d had a tip we then got served. The restaurant food was OKAY, small selection but standard repetitive. Drinks flowed quite well, although again you could see certain people getting preferential treatment ( giving them Full bottles of vodka to put in their bag) again I’m assuming it came down to how well you tipped them. The rooms are clean, probably need an update but comfy. Pools were nice. Minimal sunbeds, I counted 14 sun beds and 6 double bed things around the main pool. The beach has more sunbeds but there awful to lay on. This hotel doesn’t really provide entertainment, maybe the odd show that’s it, no entertainment team Or anything. Cancun itself is VERY expensive, everything in dollars! they will literally rob you blind! There’s more scams than you know what to do with and the greed knows no bounds with some, be extra careful with bank cards and what they’re charging you. Would I return here, no probably not, but I probably won’t return to cancun tbh. I think greed is killing the place off.
