What we liked: Good check in experience Pillow menu Modern and clean Plenty of storage in the bedroom Sofa and lounge area in the room Balcony overlooking the pool Plenty of car park spaces What we didn't like: Dinner was a buffet style, and the choices did not look appetising at all. Most options looked like they had been sat under the heat lamps / bain maries etc for a considerable length of time. Some of the dinner choices appeared to then be presented for breakfast in the morning.... who wants ratatouille for breakfast ?

“Surprisingly lovely hotel”

We came up here in early September 2019 to escape Budapest on a budget... we were not disappointed. The hotel is right beside Lake Balaton and a ten minute walk to the main drag of gift shops and restaurants. The hotel exterior has a Wes Anderson-style and the grounds are kept immaculately clean and tidy, particularly the pool and lounge area, which also has their own outdoor toilet facilities which are very pleasant and private. The receptionists are very polite and fluent in English, and more than willing to help. The room we stayed in for one night was quite old school, late 80’s decor and furniture - but it was spotless and had all the amenities you need. However, the shampoo/body wash dispenser in the shower was watered down, presumably to save on using more product, so you can’t really wash yourself with it - bring your own shampoo and body wash if staying here. In the evening we went downstairs to the lobby area and were greeted with an amazing smell of food. Dinner was a self-service buffet and contained many samples of dishes and combinations for all tastes - vegetarian included. I recommend the pork in Sicilian style sauce - delicious! For a 3 star hotel, the food was surprisingly fresh and bountiful. Again, the staff in the dining area were super helpful and always willing to assist with a smile. The facilities were clean and we thoroughly enjoyed this experience. Breakfast the next morning was fabulous with so much choices of food - cold cut meats, salads, cheeses, fruits, cereals, vegetables, wide variety of coffees and teas, bratwurst sausages, scrambled eggs, breads etc. In my opinion the staff put in huge effort in simply preparing the breakfast platter and it was noticed by fellow guests - very commendable. Overall, the two of us had a lovely experience in this quaint hotel. In order of preference, I would give #1 for the staff, #2 for the food, #3 for the room and facilities. I would recommend this hotel for budget seekers with a large appetite who enjoy strong customer service. Thank you for having us!
