Perfectly situated in the heart of Reykjavik. B&B only served. Rooms small, clean but basic. Staff friendly and helpful. Happy hour bar. Breakfast - very good choice (continental only).

The hotel is quite a way from the center. The food is very expensive at the restaurant but the main reason why we decided to eat out is that the experience during breakfast was dreadful. The staff there never smiling, acting like robots , removing plates, glasses as soon as you had finished and sometimes never letting you time to finish your plate it was already removed giving you the feeling that it was time to leave. Never experienced that before. Fortunately the front desk staff and mainly Sofia were very professional, smiling, welcoming and doing they best to help. Thanks for making our staying much better

I’ve read a few reviews and they say the same- overpriced. Basic scrambled egg always cold. Don’t understand why as people says same on reviews … why can’t they heat it up, plus it’s pretty tasteless, coffee machine basic too. Overall 6.5/10

“All started off very good but went downhill rapid”

We (3 older females) arrived at hotel on 2/3/26 and were impressed with easy and friendly check in. I had a queen room to myself and the 2 others had a twin room. We were all very pleased with our accommodation and the coffee machine was a nice touch. I went to restaurant around 5pm and purchased a drink where the bar man was very pleasant and asked would I like a single or double vodka to which I said a double please. I took my drink upstairs to the girls room and we were sitting chatting and speaking about our plans for the next 3 days. Later we all 3 went back down to restaurant where we ordered a drink each and again were asked would we like a single or double we all said single. 2 of us ordered steak burgers and the other fish and chips. The drinks and food were served again to a very high standard and we chatted to the waiters where we got advice about getting into town the next morning and modes of transport. The food & service was excellent which we commented to the waiter and asked him to say compliments to the chef. We went on a couple of excursions the next day and stayed in Reykjavik for food and drinks. before returning to the hotel later that evening. The next day we had an early pick up from hotel for our golden circle tour so decided to go down and book and pay for 3 breakfasts. One of our party went for breakfast at 7.15am and took some scrambled egg, small sausages and bacon. They were all very cold so she made some toast instead. Me and the other one went for breakfast at 8am and again found the scrambled egg, bacon & sausages to be freezing. It felt as if we had got them from the fridge not the hot plate. We too decided to make some toast and and have coffee and croissants. Not impressed with what we had paid for breakfast and what we got so there would be no further breakfast. We went on our golden circle tour and thoroughly enjoyed it. We returned back to our hotel about 6pm and went to our rooms to freshen up before we headed downstairs later for some dinner and drinks. We noticed it was a different waiter and we ordered our drinks 1 bacardi and 1 vodka and one glass of water with a slice of lemon. Our drinks came in a big Gin Goblet filled to the top with mixer. I immediately asked if it was a single and was about to say there was far too much orange in it when i was told it was a double. I said i never asked for a double and the other girl also asked about their bacardi and again informed it was a double and she also said she never asked for a double. The other girl was served an empty glass with 2 big chunks of lemon in it and told her water was coming. The waiter proceeded to tell me he always serves doubles unless asked not to. I told him 2 nights previous i had been in the bar and when ordered drink we were given the option of single or double. He eventually apologised and said he would only charge singles. We then ordered our food 2 steak burgers again as they had been delicious and a vegan burger this time. still my friend had not received her water when the food arrived. Eventually another girl was told to bring the water which she did. The lemon chunks were too big for the glass. When our food arrived I cut into my burger and it was raw in the middle and so was my friends the other girls vegan burger was a rubbery small chewy burger. We called the waiter over and said the burgers were not cooked enough and pink in middle. He took them away but wasnt very happy. The girl with the vegan burger was by now fed up and had eaten what she could of her sub standard burger and decided to pay and leave restaurant as it was totally different experience from 2 nights ago. Meanwhile me and my friend were still sitting with no food and after about 20 minutes our fresh burgers returned. The waiter then had the audacity to say for future reference perhaps say how you would like your burger cooked. I immediately replied we werent asked nor have i ever been asked how I would like my burger cooked..... I said cooked would be a good start. We werent asked the other night and the burgers were delicious. The waiter started to disagree with me to which i told him to go away from the table and let us eat our meal. We ate our burgers which were better cooked and we then paid and left the restaurant. So perhaps a good idea to train your waiter like the first waiter who had nothing but respect and provided an excellent service.
