From the moment we arrived atthe LOdge till the time we left for Jabalpur, the experience was just fabulous, The warmth and hospitality of the staff, led by Harpreet (Happy) Singh was beyond words. The food and service was exceptionally good, considering the handicap of being in the midst of a jungle and resources being limited. The proximity to the Safari gate is an added advantage of the Lodge. I would, without any hesiattion, recommend this property to anyone visiting Kanha....

Wonderful place to rest and relax after a safari day with the tigers and other wildlife. The service was 5 star! Between the amazing food and the comfortable, spacious, clean and view friendly rooms, we would definitely recommend this secluded hideaway. Our guide was aptly named "Happy" and his passion for the outdoors was contagious. The chef was also passionate about the food and made sure each and every one of us got exactly what we liked...no matter our tastebuds! Housekeeping was spot-on and being able to tour the farm-to-table gardens and the solar farm was an added bonus. Where do you get service like this anymore?!

The journey to Pugdundee Earth Lodge begins long before you arrive—it announces itself quietly, in the way the road starts to change its character. Leaving the broad, purposeful stretch of National Highway 44 at Seoni, you take a right turn that feels almost like stepping back in time. The highway narrows into a single-lane road that bends and dips with the natural contours of the land, no longer imposing itself but yielding to it. This is the old India—unhurried, textured, and deeply alive. Beyond Seoni, the road threads through Keolari, Nainpur, and Chiraidongri—small settlements that feel anchored in another rhythm. Life spills onto the roadside: bicycles leaning against mud walls, children walking in clusters, and the occasional tea stall sending curls of woodsmoke into the air. After the modest intersection at Indri, the landscape softens into something quietly spectacular. Large Mahua trees stand with a kind of patient authority, their broad canopies casting deep shade. The forest thickens with sal and bamboo, and if you’re attentive, you might catch herds of spotted deer moving lightly through the undergrowth or grazing close to the road, unbothered by your passing. Scattered between these stretches are small, beautiful hamlets—clusters of earth-toned homes that seem to belong to the forest as much as the trees themselves. And then, almost without announcement, you arrive. Pugdundee Earth Lodge sits gently within its surroundings, not so much built as settled into the landscape. The architecture is deliberately rustic—earthy tones, and natural materials that echo the forest outside. There is no attempt to overpower the setting; instead, the lodge seems to defer to it. I spent three nights here, and came away thoroughly content with both the service and the amenities. I was personally greeted by the manager, Harpreet Singh, whose warmth sets the tone for the entire stay. He is attentive without being intrusive, and under his care, the staff operates with a quiet efficiency that makes everything feel effortless. There is a genuine quality to the people here—you are not processed as a guest, but received, and made to feel at home in an unforced, sincere way. The food is consistently good—simple, well-prepared, and satisfying after long hours in the forest. Service is excellent throughout, thoughtful without ever becoming overbearing. And the location itself is exceptional. One night, coming back from dinner at a friend’s place and walking back from the vehicle, I heard the distant, unmistakable call of a tiger—one of those moments that stays with you long after you’ve left. The rooms are large, comfortable, and in keeping with the lodge’s rustic aesthetic—high ceilings, natural textures, and a calm, earthy palette. If there is one small compromise, it is in their placement. The cottages are a little closer to each other than one might expect in such a remote, forested setting. Privacy is still adequate, but the sense of complete isolation—the feeling of being alone in the wilderness—is slightly softened. Even so, what lingers is the overall experience. Good food, excellent service, genuine people, and a setting that is hard to better—together, they make this one of the finest jungle lodges I’ve had the chance to stay in.

We stayed at Pugdundee Safaris’ Kanha property in March, and I was genuinely very impressed with the entire experience. This was our first safari as a family, and it could not have been more special. From the moment we arrived, everything felt thoughtfully curated, warm, and seamless. The cottage was clean, beautiful, with interiors that felt both luxurious and deeply in tune with the surroundings. I especially loved the small touches in the room, like the coffee and cookies arrangement — details like these really make a stay memorable. The rooms were comfortable, elegant, and exactly what you would want after a long day out in the जंगल. The food was another highlight. Every meal was delicious, but the local thaalis were absolutely mouthwatering and full of flavour. We also loved the butterfly garden and the fresh vegetables, which added to the charm and authenticity of the property. It is clear that a lot of care goes into everything they do. A special mention to Head Chef Ark, Manager Harpreet, Naturalist Rahul, and the entire service staff — each of them contributed to making our stay exceptional. Rahul's knowledge and stories and understanding of the jungle were incredible. and the whole time in jungle fly by! Their warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail stood out throughout. The safari experience was also beautifully managed, with a comfortable jeep and smooth coordination that made the whole outing feel effortless. The breakfast in the middle of the jungle was yum as well! What impressed me most was the attention to detail at every level. Nothing felt rushed and everything was done with thought and care. If I ever plan another safari with my family, it would be with Pugdundee Safaris only, and i hope to check out their other properties soon.
