When I think of Munnar, I think of this place. It kick started our beautiful journey in Kerala. The room is very comfortable (built on tree) and the view outside the room (greenery, trees, mountain, lake, grass, birds chirping) will detox you! We stayed there just for a night but it turned out to be our best stay (for the rest of our journey, we stayed at even 4 star hotels but nothing matched to the serenity that was felt and experienced at Tree Villa) The reasons were various but what I most fondly remember (with a smile) are: 1. Home made customized food - Their cook (name forgotten) served us dinner at 11 PM (it's too late for Kerala) as it had taken us an entire day to reach there from Kochi. Next day, we were given Aaloo paratha (better than North India), achaar, Poori, Bhaaji, Dosa, Hot n brewing tea inside our room. The cook was serving us himself with so much enthusiasm and love that we couldnt help but over-eat. He kept on asking us if we liked the food, what else can he cook for us, if he should add more masala, more salt etc. We also asked him if he can cook us dosa and he happily agreed and did. Every dish was savoured. 2. Staff's enthusiasm and behavior - Once we finished eating, the same cook rushed to bring us water. When we were totally satisfied with our breakfast, we started chatting with him. His son was studying Engineering and his English too was quite good. He took us around the property where we saw rare birds, swing, trees, plants, mountain. He told us where to go, how to go and volunteered to capture our beautiful pictures himself (we took a pic with him too to remember the nice time) He even helped us book taxi for Munnar sight-seeing. 3. The room and view - Comfortable room, washroom and lovely view outside. You'll get up early to experience cool relaxing wind and chirping of birds (the best music I know) You're bound to be mesmerized in that place and forget the hustle bustle of city life. In one word, the place was synonym to 'tranquility'. I can't think of any con for the place. Would love to meet the cook again and check if he remembers us!
