I recently returned from a two-night, three-day trip to Thekkady and chose The Elephant Court based on a friend's recommendation. I am pleased to say that the experience lived up to the expectations. The room was very spacious, and the bathroom was comfortably sized as well. The amenities were good and met all expectations, though there was nothing particularly extraordinary about them. What truly stood out was the service. From AGM Selma, Jancy, the room supervisor and to the security guard at the entrance, every team member was courteous, professional, and genuinely committed to guest satisfaction. It was evident that they knew their roles well and executed them with confidence. The room was impeccably clean, and the evening tea and coffee service, available from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM, was a pleasant touch. Along with tea and coffee, a freshly prepared fried snack and a selection of packaged snacks were served. The chef and service staff were warm, smiling, and attentive, ensuring a steady replenishment of refreshments despite the large number of guests on the first evening. Dinner service began at 7:00 PM and featured a well curated spread. Every dish I tasted was excellent, reflecting both the quality of ingredients and the consistency of the culinary team. The chefs deserve special appreciation for maintaining such high standards. The air conditioner appeared slightly undersized for the room's dimensions, but to its credit, it performed reasonably well and kept the room comfortable throughout our stay. At breakfast for both the days, I noticed the same level of attentiveness from the team. The staff remained vigilant, proactive, and eager to assist, frequently offering freshly prepared items from the buffet. The front office team was equally helpful and assisted us in arranging a jeep safari. Instead of opting for the conventional lake tour, we chose a 4x4 off-road adventure through the outskirts of Thekkady. The excursion included a visit to a nearby landing strip and airport, and the panoramic views from the hilltop were spectacular. We were even fortunate enough to spot a few bison grazing in the distance. The swimming pool is not heated, and the water temperature is natural. However, during the summer season, this made little difference and was actually quite refreshing. As we checked out, several members of the team came to bid us farewell, a gesture that perfectly reflected the warmth and hospitality we experienced throughout our stay. If I ever return to Thekkady, or if anyone asks me for a recommendation in the area, The Elephant Court will undoubtedly be at the top of my list.
