After our lovely stay at the Nandini, our driver took us to our next hotel in Lovina. The drive took nearly three hours. Lovina is located in the north of Bali. As is the case everywhere on Bali, the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a beautiful villa with a pool right outside the door, featuring a spacious room and a large bathroom. The evenings at the Sunset Bar, accompanied by live music, were delightful. A special highlight was the dolphin-watching excursion at 6:00 a.m. The hotel is owned by an Australian, so it was no surprise to find other Australians there; we had informative and entertaining conversations with a few of the couples. For us, the advantage of the Lovina was its proximity to the town and the local tourist scene. You could walk to the heart of the action in about 20 minutes. At nearby *warungs* (local eateries), we paid around €10 for two meals and drinks, whereas comparable meals at the hotel cost around €25 to €30. Both meals were good and the portions were generous. The excursion to a well-known temple was well-organized and very interesting. For us, this was the best part of the trip. The Lovina Hotel comes highly recommended.

The Lovina is so relaxing. The Lovina is situated right on the beachfront and while the resort occupies a large site it never seems crowded. The grounds are beautiful and tranquil. The rooms are a really good size with comfortable beds and good bathrooms. The pool is a very good size and was never crowded. We had a one bedroom Beach suite (pick an upstairs room) which overlooked the pool and had great ocean views. Our package included breakfast and dinner and there were plenty of delicious options. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the meals. Breakfast was also good. Lovina offers free Paddleboarding and it is ideal for beginners especially in the morning. My wife had 2 facials and said they were first rate and my massages were excellent. Thanks to Ari and Tia at the Spa. Prices were really good especially given the quality of our Spa services. All of the staff were very welcoming but I want to especially acknowledge the outstanding service we received from Made My at breakfast and Karee at the Beach Bar. Housekeeping was very good and Marsika always greeted us with a smile. Lovina is a long drive from the airport but once you are there you immediately feel relaxed.

We returned to The Lovina for the forth time in June-July 2026, as a family of 4. It was amazing to be welcomed back by the same staff and made to feel at home. The service is impeccable, the facilities extremely clean, well maintained and updated, and the food delicious. Our 12 and 18 year old daughters enjoyed interacting with the friendly and trustworthy staff. We stayed in a 3 bedroom garden pool villa, which was perfect for our family - the pool providing a split between parent and children areas provided enough connection, whilst enabling teenagers some privacy and independence when needed. Rooms are always bright, airy, open, air conditioned and comfortable. The beds and pillows are always comfortable - we wake up feeling refreshed every morning. The Day Spa is excellent, providing a variety of experiences for a range of time and budget. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced - as are the cocktails! Lovina Reef looked great, and scuba diving and snorkeling locally and in the wider area never disappoints. Great to see the artificial reef enhancements developing so well since our visit 4 years ago. This is the perfect place to relax in the quiet atmosphere, see local Bali townships and choose to be more adventurous if you want. We highly recommend this resort, regularly telling friends to go there. We will be back again.

Stayed here for 3 nights in June - we chose a cheaper room and were disappointed there was not even a balcony but the view over the rice field was still pleasant and the room very comfortable. Service was excellent throughout. Food was good with some vegan options (would have liked a vegan pizza option - there is vegan cheeze available in the supermarket!) for us although we did walk into town to eat and get a massage (much cheaper and still excellent). Pool was quite rowdy with a lot of Australians drinking with their young children splashing about, so probably not the place for you if you are looking for adults only peace and tranquility! But saying that, the tables between the pool and the beach offered a lovely view and drinks. We also did the dolphin tour whilst we were here and only saw a couple of dolphins for about 3 seconds so that was disappointing too, but not the hotel's fault! Overall very good.
