A family holiday with the resort stay/experience in mind, & no interest in touring outside (due to the ages of the kids - we will when they are older). Firstly, the Paradisus has an amazing team of people. Courteous, friendly, & excellent at their jobs. Always a smile, & never far away, when you need them. They made our stay a fantastic one. From Tia of the family concierge The staff in the water park bar, the lifeguards, & Deny, who helped my injured child. All excellent. The staff in the beach kids club were great with the kids. Maria was fantastic with her care, (as well as the other ladies onsite), & she hosted a hugely fun football match for the footie mad littlies. The kids club also hosts an early evening outdoor cinema for the kids, with beanbag loungers to relax on, & fresh popcorn for the wee ones. The resort facilities are superb! The water park is great fun for the kids, with plenty of space & fun areas for kids of all ages. It is also separate from the main pool, which gives the adults who want a break, (or the moody ones, who just don't like kids), time to enjoy. The main pool is huge, & with plenty of loungers, & day beds. There are tennis courts, basketball, & soccer courts, for the sporty types (though the heat keeps play at a minimum). You can hire bikes & pedal cars, which were fantastic for rides along the beach paths. The beach front cabanas are fantastic, with great views & much relaxation had, whilst watching the kids play on the beach. There are plenty of restaurants & bars on site, with some seriously great food to be had. There are some shops on site. Quiksilver (if you somehow forgot your swimming gear), a clothing boutique & a souvenir store. There is also a photography & video studio, if you want to get some great, professional images. The Spa team are great! Several specialist massages & treatments that left me & my wife feeling exceptionally relaxed. The ancient Balinese foot treatment was a wonderful comfort for my very injured feet, as I approach a surgery. The grounds are beautiful, & superbly maintained, with stunning gardens, multiple ponds (complete with ducks, geese fish & turtles - which you can feed as an activity every morning). It's gorgeous during the day, & is a visual feast at night. Our room was a family room, on 2 levels, with a fabulous tee-pee bed & double bed on the 1st level, & a more adult type room on the the 2nd level. Both sections have en-suite bathrooms, & TV's. A simple, but effective mini-bar fridge was complimented with a little pantry, which is great when you have additional snacks & treats for the kids. The only issue we had, was the odd lighting arrangement, where from two points there are lights pointing down on the kids beds, which meant you either had to switch most lights off to get rid of those, or someone had the light in there eye, when using the 1st level as a sort of lounge area in the evening. However, this is a very minor gripe in an fantastic family space. The view from the balcony of the room was also lovely. Looking down on the gardens, & also the large winding swimming pool, that is for guests who book the poolside accommodation. (This was something we would have loved to have booked, but a little too early, what with having a 3yr old who cannot swim just yet) Overall, we couldn't ask for more. It really is a great resort, with great people working there, & we had an amazing time. If it wasn't for a Melia company conference booking the resort out, we would have stayed longer. 5 stars or 10/10
