A villa is always better than a hotel, if a large family or group of friends who want to spend time together. The villa is a part of a set of 4 similar villas, all opening out along a walled path, but separated from each other with walls. Each villa has a similar layout and all have small gardens, and swimming pools. Our villa was the last one down the path. It was spacious, with large living and outdoor spaces, and a good-sized swimming pool, bordered by a strip og lawm and flowering frangipani trees. It was ideal for our family get-together. The large bedrooms had plenty of storage for our 5-day stay. The bathrooms were incredible, a part while sheltered behind a tall wall, were open to the sky. There was a small problem with hot water in one of the bathrooms, but we managed. Each bedroom had complete privacy, and also opened out into the garden and pool area. The staff cleaned the rooms daily. There is a large functional kitchen, should one wish to cook, but the staff was happy to cook us breakfast every morning. It was served with some lovely local fruit and fresh juice. The location was in a non-touristy part of Seminyak, and although it was possible to take a longish walk to the beach, we preferred to use the villa's car, which charged very reasonable rates. The shopping and restaurants were easy to reach. The staff was amazing, always smiling, and eager to help. They could communicate in English. We have stayed in Sminyak on earlier occasions, but this has to be the best accommodation we have had.

Lovely stay. Very reasonably priced for a private villa with own pool. Don’t expect 5 stars but for the price it’s an amazing deal. No issues at all with accommodation and onsite spa was reasonable with aromatherapy massage for 300k ($30AUD). By comparison massage similar at hard rock was 900k and 200k at markets. Small Circle K convenience store just a couple steps away and great coffee shop directly across the road. Recommend using Gojek for food orders and transport as it is a bit away from everything (not walking distance) we stayed mostly in the villa and relaxed which was perfect. Wifi and reception can be spotty at times, recommend you get an eSIM for data. Overall we loved our stay and will be back in future.

The rooms on the first floor are suitable only for athletes or the adventurous. One has to climb up a very steep staircase. Climbing down is not much easier either. Two single beds occupy early 80% of the room, with very little room to navigate around the place. The cots are larger than the beds, making it difficult to climb in or out. Many complaints about flush not working, and shower water not draining. In one room in the upper floor of villa 149, the glass covering over the shower is broken. The shower is open to the sky. If it rains, you can shower without turning on the taps. If you arrive in daytime, you will be received with a traditional garland. If you land at night, you are on your own. One receptionist and a security man are the only souls available and they, of course, find it difficult to cope with the arrival of a big group. There's a pool in each villa but it is not clean enough to inspire you to step in. The sofa covers in the reception area are old and faded. At night, they become beds for the staff. Breakfast does not match the 4 star claim. There's an impression of a run down establishment. Would be a reasonably good place with good maintenance. Guests must be told in advance about the steep climb to the upper floor rooms and the lack of lifts. There are three Bali Dream Villas in close vicinity. Some reviews are very positive but it is not possible to make out which property they are about. The one we stayed is on Jl Bidadari. The staff were friendly but have their own limitations.
