Returning to Kayumanis Ubud for our third stay since 2010 was as magical as ever. Its authentic design/aesthetic, grounds, private pool, and in-villa dining opportunities are exceptional. What truly elevates Kayumanis, however, is the incredibly gracious and warm service from the staff. The property, in many respects, offers more intimate charm than the other name-brand villas in Ubud, at a significantly more competitive rate. Thank you for another unforgettable stay. We are already counting down the days until our fourth visit in two years.

“Loved it …. But you need to know this ??”

Kayumanis Ubud is fabulous, from the minute you arrive you know you made a good choice here. A friendly welcome always goes a long way after a long journey, we were checked in and shown around the estate as we were early and our Villa wasnt ready as yet. Kayumanis is located about 10 minutes outside the town area of Ubud, but the reception can organise a complimentary shuttle during the day, and a paid service in the evenings. The grounds here are really large, and guests need to be aware of this. Whilst many may just enjoy the privacy of their own Villa with a beautiful pool area, others might want to explore further to the lower level infinity general pool. If so you need to know that is lower in the resort down by the river, as such it is a fairly long uneven walk way past the spa zone. Even the general paths from the Villas to Reception or Restaurant areas are uneven slabs and challenging to those older guests. The Villas are lovely , very Balinese with comfortable beds , the outside grounds are well kept and have external seating areas which are lovely for room service breakfast or just relaxation by the pool. However what guests can easily miss when getting excited by seeing the lovely photographs of Kayumanis, is that the Bathrooms are also outside, fully exposed to the open air and the heat. Now of course for many that can sound quite romantic, but is different in real life. Now us Guys really dont get bothered by this , but is a different story when visiting the bathroom at night, because realistically you are going loo in the Jungle. Which is very different because of the noises that you hear all around you , the rustle in the bushes, the sounds of animals all around you and the bugs in the air that are attracted by the light. Now in fairness none of this is a real problem but something you have to accept, especially as we found out when one night the whole sink and toilet area was covered in dead insects . Now the cleaning team quickly came and completely cleaned everything but I don’t advise leaving personal items outside as our Hair Brushes and Toothbrushes had to be thrown out. Of course this is not unique to Kayumanis it is a feature of any accomodation in these jungle areas, just be prepared and keep belongings inside with the nice air conditioning. The management realised we were celebrating our Wedding Anniversary and kindly moved us from the lovely Villa we had booked into the Honeymoon Suite which was larger and simply gorgeous, so we thank them for that and highly recommend Kayumanis to anyone. It’s in a great location, the Villas are special and the staff very accomodation and kind.

What a treat to stay here and get spoiled. Our villa was exceptional, well laid out, large, spotlessly clean with many extra quality features. At Kayumanis Ubud you have the space to relax and unwind. The Dining Corner restaurant offer a wide range of tasty food which is complicated by great service. Having an afternoon cocktail and canapés delivered to our villa was so nice. The spa treatment is excellent and professional, they don’t mind if you snore as you relax 😴. The complimentary drive into Ubud was another great addition to our stay. We would Kayumanis Ubud without hesitation and look forward to returning. 🙏

“Great Resort, Poor Packages”

I have to say that the beautiful resorts are really underserved by the process of having to clarify the package at every step, and be misled about the inclusions from start to finish. I have to say that the beautiful resorts are really underserved by the process of having to clarify the package at every step, and be misled about the inclusions from start to finish. The process of having to inquire daily about why are we being charged for certain items, why discounts are not included, not having clarity on what spa treatments cost (which your resort intentionally does so that you can claim a discount is given when it is in fact not) has put a very negative cloud over this entire trip. We are constantly made to feel as though we are cheap or difficult, when we are just trying to avoid being misled, misinformed, or not given the package that we paid for. I have enjoyed our time in Bali, but not our time in working with your resorts - this is especially a problem with the Ubud location. It greatly detracted from what was otherwise a wonderful trip. Of everything that could go wrong, dealing with the Kayumanis team has been the worst part of our stay.
