  • Guests at Armada Hotel say: Our recent stay at the Armada Hotel was, without question, one of the most incredible hotel experiences I’ve had in a very long time. I genuinely didn’t want to leave. From the moment we arrived to checkout... There is such a warm, authentic sense of Irish hospitality throughout the hotel, it’s something truly special. We chose to upgrade to a Seascape Suite, and wow, it was worth every cent! The room was breathtaking. The ocean views were mesmerising, I found myself waking early just to sit and watch the sea. The space was beautifully designed, with thoughtful touches everywhere! A stunning copper bath overlooking the ocean (complete with a seaweed soak), a cosy fireplace, rocking chair by the window, electronic curtains, books to browse, and even an air purifier and fan. What truly stood out was the generosity and attention to detail. For my 50th birthday month, I arrived to find a bottle of Prosecco, a handwritten card, and a delicious cake waiting in the room, such a thoughtful surprise! The mini fridge was stocked with lemonade and a bar of Irish chocolate. Also keoghs crisps and two cocktails on the side. At turndown we were treated to Coole Swan liqueur and chocolate truffles. Even the water setup impressed... a carafe with refill stations instead of single-use bottles, which I loved from a sustainability point of view. The bathroom featured gorgeous Irish-made products, everything felt luxurious and carefully curated. Dining was equally outstanding. We had dinner in Aileen’s, absolutely delicious and great value. Service was excellent, and a special mention to Ishara, who was particularly kind and attentive, although truly, every member of staff we encountered was exceptional. On arrival day, we joined a complimentary wine tasting, where the sommelier was fantastic, generous, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate. We discovered a beautiful New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc (Tinpot Hut), which we later enjoyed with dinner. We also spent time in Johnny Burke’s pub...cosy, welcoming, and full of character. The chowder and brown bread were incredible (and very generous portions), and we thoroughly enjoyed Irish coffees and relaxed drinks while enjoying the local music. Breakfast in the room was another highlight, generous and full of flavour. It was lovely to hear how much the hotel sources locally, including produce from their own farm! We were also lucky enough to visit the beautifully renovated Armada House across the road, absolutely stunning, so stylish and beautifully done. Even though it was booked for a private event later that day, a staff member kindly showed us around, which was such a thoughtful gesture. I’d happily stay there too… although it would be hard to beat that Seascape view! On our final evening, I fancied a particular champagne that wasn’t available in the restaurant we were dining in and without hesitation, a staff member went out of their way to source it for me. That level of service really says everything about this place. The weather blessed us too, and sitting outside overlooking the Atlantic, followed by a walk along the beach, made the whole experience feel incredibly special and wholesome. I can honestly say I couldn’t find a single fault. Even as we were leaving, we were given a parting gift, a final thoughtful touch that perfectly summed up our stay. This hotel is something truly special. We will absolutely be back.
