A really good hotel, with great facilities. The staff were amazingly helpful, and the location is really good for being able to get out and about.

I have originally booked Hilton back in 2024 when my trip got cancelled, and was a bit bumped out when in 2025 the prices went up for it big times, and while I had mixed feelings heading to Hotel Brandan I can say afterwards that I am happy we ended up- here, a very modern and clean place, right in the "center" of Torshavn with amazing options for various food and attractions walking distance, and quite ironically does look a bit like the Hilton property that is actually a super short walk away from it/ Location: you are about 45minutes drive from the airport - there are actually 2 ways to get here, "EAST" easier and felt faster via route 10, and "WEST" more scenic but also more demanding on the driver via route 50 - both perfectly safe, just 50 is muuuuuuuch higher and I recommend take it at least once since scenic driving is a gem type of experience around Faroe Islands! We stayed 5 nights here and 2 nights on Vagar, but honestly one can stay entire 7 days here and still be fine as it's somewhat "centrally" located to everything and nothing is too far - you can take the paid tunnels to Sandoy near by, or go via the other fancy one with the roundabout to Bordoy/Vidoy (this would be your longest drive), or just skip the tunnels and drive around Streymoy and Eysturoy, or even go back to Vagar - plenty to see, and it can perfectly fine function as your base, as it did for us Room: we had a double king room on the ground floor (kind of wished we had the 2nd floor but I did not see that option when booking via Expedia, #3 to be exact if my memory serves me well still), with a view... of a horseeee :) yep, in the middle of the urban town there are some horses across the hotel, beautiful creatures btw!, just chilling on someone's private lawn and munching on the grass - it was such a serene and relaxing feeling to see them, especially on the night of the arrival when we got to the room around 10PM and it was still so bright outside yet no human soul out there, except for that white horse :) room was modern and decently spaced out so we could open 2 big luggages, shoes, etc. - there is a small bar with wine glasses (that came handy!), mini fridge, great Wi-Fi, comfortable bed and pillows. My only complaint was the phone charger in the "night stand" - it was impossible to plug anything inside it due to how it's built so we would always charge the phones on the main desk, made it impossible to utilize those ports by the bed - nothing terrible but if you need your phone in front of you in the morning then just charge it in advance :) shower was great, but we thought (both rooms) that the toilet seat was a bit cramped, especially if you are a bigger person :) Hotel grounds: there is plenty of parking space on both sides, there is a nice souvenir selection at the check in lobby, and also a very nice patio that people would tend to chill at in the evenings, these is also a restaurant on the spot for those who prefer breakfast on the spot, cool grass roof and black walls - a very essence of Faroe Islands that we loved so much that we actually bought a small mini house as a souvenir with us (yes, it wasn't the sheep, it was the grass roofs that stood out more! haha) Food & restaurant options: we did not eat with my wife at the hotel, although it looked great we are not a buffer people, so I can't personally speak to the food but our friend who visited with us loved it, I want to say it about $39 USD or so per person with good coffee included (that I did try!). We loved venturing each morning down to the "port area" to try some new food, or return to the one we loved (I have reviewed them all here if you are interested), there is even a great Oy (Island) brewery closer 5 to 10 minutes easy walk - excellent options at your disposal, perfect! There are also some grocery stores in the area, including Bonus about 5 to 10 minutes walk. Things to do: we spend 7 night on Faroe Islands and since everything is close by enough then I would recommend: 1 day morning chill in Torshavn and take a boat trip to Mykines, 1 day Road trip around Bordoy/Vidoy + Visit to Kalsoy with a ferry, 1 Day all the villages on Eysturoy like Fuglafjørður/Oyndarfjørður/Elduvik/Gjogv/Eiði. 1 Day Saksun/Tjornuvik/Vestmanna, 1 Day Sandoy, 1 Day Vagar, and account for weather issues - we got lucky and only "lost" it to the Sandoy visit day (still did go and enjoyed it). Mykines during Puffin season is a must and I am from experience of seeing them already in Iceland twice and also in Ireland, this is a real deal place to see them! and Kalsoy was also challenging but appreciated. Do go to all these coastal towns - driving around and visiting them in Faroe Islands = magic! Overall: a wonderful property, excellent location, I would recommend to everyone and would totally return one day, I am actually hoping too, Faroe Islands are a very special and unique place - the entire country is sooo special and that uniqueness carries out throughout the islands in a uniform way that leaves you with a memory for life!
