We had a great first visit to the Sella Ronda. The hotel is excellent: well positioned a short walk from the new high capacity Col Rodella lift, good quality compact rooms, good value bar and excellent food. The enormous Sella Ronda system is complicated for the first time visitor but the free ski guiding service offered by the hotel and provided by Stefano is excellent. Stefano is fun to ski with and his knowledge of the system is extensive allowing him to make the best of the available conditions. As well as offering ski guiding 6 days per week he is present in reception each evening to offer advice to guests. We have not been offered a service such as this anywhere previously. Hotel Medil and Stefano are a great combination for an excellent holiday: highly recommended.

Hotel Medil was hands down our favorite hotel of the entire trip. The location is unbeatable for doing the Sella Ronda and exploring the Dolomiti Superski area, but honestly I would recommend it to anyone staying in the area — even if you’re not skiing. You can walk to one of the best and newest lifts (inaugurated in 2026), and even in January we had basically no lines, which was amazing. It’s also in a super convenient spot: walking distance to a supermarket, plus Campitello di Fassa restaurants and cafés, so you can easily move around without needing a car. Another big plus is the parking: they have a large, spacious parking area, which makes everything much easier in a ski town. The ski room is next-level: super clean, spacious, and incredibly convenient. It has all the latest technology, a dedicated bench/table for ski servicing, full bathrooms, and even fresh towels available right there. Truly the best ski room we had on this trip. The rooms were beautiful — warm, comfortable, and very spacious, with incredible views. Everything felt cozy and well maintained. The breakfast was extremely varied and abundant, perfect before a full ski day or even for hiking. A special mention to the staff: Bruno at the front desk was absolutely outstanding — warm, professional, and always ready to help with anything we needed. And Antonio at the bar was a legend: always positive, welcoming, and providing 10/10 service. The bar itself is one of the reasons this hotel feels so special. Every night it becomes a great meeting point where people gather to have a drink, grab something to eat, play cards, or just relax with a laptop. We also tried the pizza from the bar and it genuinely surprised us — one of the best pizzas of the whole trip, and for under €10 per person, it was an incredible value. The hotel also offers a very complete dinner buffet in the dining area (we didn’t try it), but it looked busy every night. In January 2026 it was around €40 per person. Overall, an outstanding hotel and I would 100% stay here again.

“Excellent skiing and dining.”

The hotel is excellent, staff is caretaking and friendly. Food is excellent. Wonderful skiing area. Sauna and wellness are fine.

The building and amenities all feel tired and a bit cramped. It feels like a 3 star hotel not a 4 star. I guess the swimming pool gives it the 4 star grade. The building and amenities all feel tired and a bit cramped. It feels like a 3 star hotel not a 4 star. I guess the swimming pool gives it the 4 star grade. The only standout facility was the ski room with individual lockers and lots of space. The staff are just about fine. Quite a few hiccups in the dining room. DInners were disappointing. The quantities were huge, especially the appetiser bar, but the quality was poor with quite a lot of oversalting. I think it advertises itself as a family owned hotel, but if it is the family were absent or disinterested. It’s also not very family friendly despite what it says. No playroom area for small children so they disturb others in the bar, no automatic children early supper, so they disturb others in the restaurant. On the plus side, location is excellent as a short walk to the main gondola station and there is a very knowledgeable ski guide, Stefano, who leads excellent free ski tours each day. The barman is also very good.
