“Five Nights, 21 Family Members, and a Concierge Who Made It All Work — Hotel Cortina”

We spent five nights at Hotel Cortina (June 7–12, 2026), my second stay with this wonderful family-run hotel in the last few years, and it once again exceeded every expectation. This trip was not a simple one. Our extended family group of 21 — my three siblings and their families in rooms at the h… more

“Wonderful hotel”

A belated review from three weeks here during the Winter Olympics. I had one of the attic rooms on the top floor which was spacious and comfortable with tons of storage and stunning mountain views (minor downside of not being able to stand up in the shower due to the sloping roof). It was kept very… more

“Superb hotel in a wonderful location”

A hotel in the classic style with service to match. It is friendly, stylish and classy. I was here for 3 weeks during the Olympics and it was a perfect base. It’s in the exact centre of town, next to the church and bell tower (you won’t need an alarm clock, but they didn’t ring all night!) Michael… more

The room was well appointed, with a great bathroom and balcony overlooking the center of the town. The restaurant was not owned or operated by the hotel. We did have an opportunity to e… more

  • The top reviews of Cortina are: We spent five nights at Hotel Cortina (June 7–12, 2026), my second stay with this wonderful family-run hotel in the last few years, and it once again exceeded every expectation. This trip was not a simple one. Our extended family group of 21 — my three siblings and their families in rooms at the hotel, my daughter and her husband, and a number of cousins spread across nearby hotels and Airbnbs — had come to the Dolomites to reconnect with long-lost relatives. Coordinating something like that could have been a logistical nightmare. Instead, it was a joy, almost entirely thanks to the hotel's concierge, Michele. Michele was, without exaggeration, the linchpin of our entire week. He dug into genealogical research with us, helped book a private coach for our group's pilgrimage to our ancestral village, and arranged mountain guides who could accommodate everyone from seasoned hikers to total beginners — no small feat with a group our size and range of abilities. He somehow kept track of large group dinners without missing a beat, handled the constant stream of questions from 21 family members with patience and good humor, and on top of all of it, took the time to help me with my own efforts to learn Italian. I've stayed in a lot of hotels over the years. I have never had a concierge work this hard, this cheerfully, or this effectively for one family. If you're planning anything complicated in Cortina, ask for Michele — he will take care of you. He wasn't alone in making the week special. Danielo and Coletta were both fantastic — Danielo, with his Sicilian warmth, was a delight every time we crossed paths. The overnight front desk staff went out of their way to sort out my early-morning coffee needs before the world was awake. And a special thank-you to Signora A, who spent time with me talking about how Cortina has changed over the decades, especially in the years following the '26 Olympics — the kind of conversation you remember long after the trip ends. As for the hotel itself: the breakfast was outstanding, our suite came with a huge patio we used constantly, and the valet parking made arriving and departing effortless. Evening drinks on the outdoor patio, looking out over the church, became our favorite ritual of the trip. And the location simply can't be beat — right in the heart of Cortina, walkable to everything. This is a hotel with history, run by people who clearly care, and staffed by people like Michele who go far beyond what's expected. We'll be back..
