We just returned from a week at Miravalle Hotel, travelling with family and friends, staying respectively in Rooms 302 (Suite Tirolese) and 201 (Suite Blu). This hotel style Chalet is situated on top of a small hill, allowing guests to ski-in/ski-out directly from the modern, well-equipped ski lockers. Each locker has heated sticks for boots, together with bathroom facilities and a direct private lift using your own key card room to get in and out. ROOMS: Our two Suites had large balconies with stunning South/West views of the village and mountains, with plenty of sun (when the weather is good, which was the case when we stayed there). The suites had plenty of wardrobes/storage which came helpful when traveling with families. The beds were comfortable, with a sofa bed for our teenagers. Bathrooms came with plenty of towels changed every day, and additional SPA towels to use in the pool and sauna/steam room which you dispose of in the SPA area and they are replaced every day in your room the next morning. The hotel also provides shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion, replenish every day, but we brought our own so we didn't use many of these. The rooms were also equipped with an undercounter fridge which was very helpful to store our water, etc. While Miravalle doesn't provide a so-called "Mini Bar" in the room, you will find a local supermarket, Despar, just an 8 minute walk away, where you can get anything you need to store for your week skiing. SPA/POOL: The SPA area is quite stunning. It occupies an entire floor, which not only consists of a beautiful indoor/outdoor pool, but also offers several treatment rooms, two saunas, steamed room, relaxing room with water beds, herbal tea & water facilities, and so on. I had 3 treatments during my stay and my teenage daughter booked one too, and the therapist made everything possible to bring a relaxing experience. Such a treat after a day skiing. BREAKFAST/DINNER: We booked the "Half Board" basis for our week. The buffet breakfast is plenty, from Italian cured meats to fresh fruits, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, cheeses, Italian cakes (so delicious), croissants, all sort of breads, cereals, teas (from the normal English tea to a large selection of very healthy tea options), coffee, etc. They cater for everyone and it is impossible to leave hungry. Now, when it comes to dinner time, the Hotel Miravalle certainly didn't disappoint: not only we had a "starter buffet" every night, which consisted of Italian cured meats (in all different sorts), cooked vegetables, potato salad, artichokes, balsamic onions, beetroot, and the list doesn't end, but all of this also included a four / five course dinner on top to follow, such as an Antipasti, First Course, Second Course, Cheese Tray, and Dessert. Every night differed and you only had to select your next dinner menu on the following morning, choosing between several options. Since we travelled with a child suffering from severe nut allergies, the staff went above and beyond to always offer great dinner alternatives, while continuing to deliver delicious meals. Not once did we have an issue, but all the employees made sure everything went smooth and easy, They were all so attentive and kind. A special thank you to Leonardo and his team for not only taking great care of us, but most importantly for making us laugh and entertaining us every night. They made our week so unique and unforgettable. HOUSEKEEPING: Our housekeeper (room 302) was stunning. She was very professional, kept our Suite immaculate, clean and tidy every day, folded and stored our pyjamas under our pillows, left everything so neat and made sure not a single dust remained anywhere. We have travelled quite a lot and never have we had such a dedicated, hard working person making sure nothing was left out. She was always incredibly respectful with a beautiful smile on her face. I unfortunately didn't get her name but I thank her regardless for all her hard work and for having looked after us so well during our week. LOCATION: In my opinion, Hotel Miravalle is the place to stay in Selva. As I said above, it benefits from a ski-in/ski-out prime location, you just ski down to a T-Bar ski lift, which takes you straight to the DanterCepies gondola. Get off on the second stop (main exit) and off you go to explore amazing blue/red large slopes, all the way down to the FRERA gondola for example, and continue your skiing journey. Alternatively, exit the hotel onto the left side, ski down to the Campioni gondola and off you go to explore another part of the resort/Dolomites Valley. All to say, the hotel is perfectly located for either Beginners, Intermediate, Advanced or Expert skiers. I did walk around the Selva village and while you will find similar 4 star resorts with SPA, they not only don't have the ski-in/ski-out option but they also don't have the amazing views that Miravalle offers. However, if you do have a walking restriction, it might be an issue to walk up and down the hill when getting to main village. CONCLUSION: We all had a good time. We stayed during the high season, when the hotel was fully booked, and yet, not once we felt like it was overcrowded in any ways. The staff was very dedicated, professional and incredibly kind. This is a family-run hotel so it was very easy to speak with the owner directly and nothing was too much to ask in any ways. A big thank you to all of you for having made our skiing week such a joy. We hope to return. If I could add just a couple of small improvements, I would suggest to give one or two small bottles of water in the room upon arrival/check-in (leaving time for guests to get their own at the local supermarket for the week), and to provide some sort of Tea/Coffee facility in the Suites (for the guests paying extra) as it can be nice after a day skiing to sip a hot drink on a balcony. Just a thought/idea.
