Saw a lot of reviews, didn't care and went. Results .. Yes the romms are a bit outdated, but clean and good beds, every day new towels. Kitchen is good, not really fine dining but that you can't expect in a 3star hotel. Varied and good buffets. Staff is very kind, not everybody speaks English but they do their best. Location is 5star. Duirectly on the slopes, at 2600m. You can start ahead of the crowd ! Will we go again, 100% for sure !

Ok let's get the tricky part out the way first. I actually misread the info on Booking.com and thought it was located a little bit above the town and expected a walk. My error, it's actually located at the top of the Plan Maison telecabine which is inaccessible by car. So you access by taking you and your luggage up the telecabine. The staff are very helpful and the pass is free if you have a hotel booking. The lift closes at about 4.30pm and access afterwards is only by snowmobile so judge your arrival time closely. Once you are up the hotel is 20 metres away, easy. The staff were very welcoming and I would say all the staff I encountered were excellent, very helpful and friendly. I had numerous questions and requests and they were all answered quickly with a smile. This included arranging an after ski snowmobile lift back up to the hotel which was punctual and a fair price at 20€ per person. Onto the hotel. From a skiing point of view it couldn't be better. The building is located in the heart of the lift system. We were first lift up and first tracks every morning. And this is the main point. If you are serious, super keen skiers then this location cannot be beaten. There is a good ski shop right opposite the hotel for any equipment and a lift ticket office on site too. This is not the location for big apres ski, although there are a couple of bars like Chalet Etoile, Love Chalet and Super G that offer a limited apres. If that is your thing then this is not the place for you. Neither would I say that this is the place for families as the non ski activities are very limited. But for us, who were there to ski as much as possible, it worked. Onto the hotel itself. Some aspects of the hotel look a bit tired. But our room was clean, well appointed with our own small sauna. For me, the mattress was a little soft but that's a personal choice. Contrary to other reviews we had no problem with heating or water pressure, perhaps some maintenance has been done? Our room had a good tv with Netflix, Amazon and YouTube acces & good wifi service. The spa was fine and you need to book your slot at reception for that. The gym however did need some maintenance on it. Nothing major, simple stuff, some free weights and repair to existing equipment would solve it. This is an important feature to me as I'm a professional sports coach. Now onto the last and most contentious point the food. The breakfast service was varied with cereals, non dairy milk, fruit, cake, cheese and hams. There was also a scrambled eggs and bacon served in a warming tray. For me the bacon tray needed to be drained of the excess water/fat and cooked more. It was simply too chewy and undercooked. I've only ever found crispy bacon in Scandinavia outside of the U.K. The opposite with the eggs. It needs to be served in smaller trays and changed more often otherwise it overcooks very quickly. Evening meals. The opening salad starters were very good, great selection and taste. The starters too, usually pasta, were good too. Absolutely no complaints there. Two evenings our meat for the main course was overcooked for my taste. Tasted good but a little dry unfortunately. Desserts were a mix of cakes, fruits and ice cream. These are small issues that given it was the first week of the season can be fixed easily with a little more attention. However this is a 3 star not 5 star hotel and overall the food was fine and plentiful. In conclusion, I think it represents good value for money and a very friendly service. We had a well appointed room that met our needs. But again this is for super keen skiers not apres ski monsters!
