Slippers, who cares? Well, I’ll tell you who cares, it’s Alessandra Garin and the great team at this delightful old school hotel. Every detail of this hotel from the herringbone cloth slippers to the Santa Maria Novella products in the bathroom has been thoughtfully considered in a way some 5 Stars miss. Yes, you’re in Entreves, a hamlet outside of town but you get that amazing Monte Bianco view! We walked to the Sky Way Monte Bianco café for coffee every morning before breakfast. They offer a free shuttle into Courmayeur then we hoofed around town or the neighbouring hills and riverside. They even left us a bottle of local fizz and a fruit plate for our anniversary!

“The perfect ski getaway!”

This hotel is amazing!! My husband and I came away for a short skiing break. We wanted somewhere that felt authentic to the mountains, laid back but with a luxury feel, great food and wonderful service. Not an easy ask. L’Auberge has it all. The staff are all incredibly lovely, helpful and go above and beyond. The shuttle bus to take you to the lifts is literally never more than a few minutes away and helps make skiing completely seamless. We stayed in Suite Rocher which has a massive bath in the middle of the room - it’s a gorgeous, spacious room with lovely amenities and amazing room service for cocktails or food. The spa is beautiful - it feels brand new and everything has been taken care of - dressing gowns, slippers, herbal tea, a lovely out to indoor pool, treatments available, sauna and steam room - the hotel was fairly busy but the spa just always felt very quiet and peaceful. Great food in the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast and the hotel even booked us external restaurants if we asked too. Thank you to everyone! We will be back.

“So nearly 5 star but...”

We stayed at the Auberge de La Maison at the end of January with some friends. This hotel is stunning. The rooms are very comfortable, the food is excellent, the staff are very friendly and helpful and the location outside the town is fine because the hotel courtesy drivers will take you where you need to go and pick you up whenever you need them. The spa is great and the massage was superb. But... We asked the hotel to book our ski passes for the six days we were skiing, and asked at the time if these included the Mont Blanc ( Monte Bianco ) Skyway cable car. We were told it did not and therefore asked the hotel to reserve and book tickets for the following day - 106 euros On our last day we discovered that our ski passes included TWO cable car trips on the Skyway. We queried this with reception who told us that there was nothing they could do which was disappointing. We were shown a leaflet which confirmed the Skyway pass. However, we were not handed the leaflet when the hotel booked our passes which would have been more helpful. They did say that they would use our experience as 'a learning experience'. I have never stayed in a 5 star hotel where I have been expected to pay extra for staff training!! We gave them 3 opportunities to consider refunding this overpayment but they declined to do so, and a week later it still feels wrong. So, do come and stay at this lovely hotel but know that if you have a ski pass for more than 3 days, you can go up Mont Blanc for free.
