Ok, so the hotel is located in a little hamlet that has absolutely nothing around it and is a 5 minute bus ride from the main Gressoney resort ski lifts, cable cars, bars & restaurants but the bus ride is free - you just need to be organised in the mornings and don’t get stranded when the morning timetable thins out. The same goes for the late afternoon return bus timings - don’t get distracted too much by the bars. Breakfast is basic, but as the bus timetable dictates, you’re not there to sit around and chill. Evening meals are really good. What makes this hotel a bit special is the staff, plus the nice cosy albeit small bar/restaurant areas that give it a real family-run feel. The team at the hotel is probably about as good as it gets for looking after guests and they really make you feel at home. Thoroughly recommended.

A great hotel in the mountains with amazing hospitality. Gigi could not have been more helpful from the moment we arrived and nothing was too much trouble. We stayed for five nights having booked our trip through Heidi.com. The room was very clean, spacious with plenty of storage, a good sized ensuite bathroom always had hot water, and the bed was comfortable. There was a lounge area and a restaurant connected to the hotel which provided a good breakfast with superb coffee and a traditional evening menu. Downstairs was a sauna for relaxing after a day on the slopes and storage for skis and boots in a locker room. The bus stop was a two min walk with the lifts being approx 1 mile up the valley but you can ski back to the bus stop at the end of the day. Would definitely visit again in the future.

We stayed for one night at the start of September and where there for the UTMR race that started in Gressoney We flew into Geneva and then drove to Gressoney arriving around 9pm The hotel is just outside the town of Gressoney and on the main road so is easy to find There isn’t much parking and what is there is a little tight On arrival there was no one in reception but there is a bell to get attention. The gentleman who arrived was very friendly and I had noticed that check out was 10am and asked if we could get a late check out (as the race didn’t start until 2pm) he was really accommodating and said that we could stay as long as we needed, which was fantastic and really helped us (we checked out at 12pm) There are stairs up to the room (didn’t see any elevators) and the room we had was lovely, 2 single beds with own bedding pushed together with a wardrobe on either side, table & chairs in a booth set up and a balcony looking out over the mountains. Although our room overlooked the main road we had no issue with noise. The only problem I had was that there was no bedside table between the bed and the wardrobe and I kept hitting my arm and elbow against the wardrobe through the night when I was turning The ensuite bathroom wasn’t that wide but it was the length of the room and had a toilet, sink, shower and bidet The breakfast was held in the little restaurant downstairs (but up one floor from reception) and was the normal breakfast with pastries , fruit etc… There was also a lounge area off reception where you could sit in the evenings and plan your next day As we were there for a very short time we didn’t use the facilities of the hotel, but it was very comfortable and I was definitely return to stay longer

Although my stay here with a friend being Italian was his choice and paid for by him. I see no reason not to review Hotel Lysjoch. Although beautifully situated within the Italian Alps, excellent for skiers and trecking. My first impressions on entering I felt very unwelcomed and ignored as we wasn't acknowledged although there was a receptionist on duty. After doing the necessary registration was shown to our room. Which was small and very bland. As we hadn't eaten on route decided to eat in there restaurant. In the restaurant there was no menu? On asking for one the waiter said that there isn't a menu to view. But dictated whar there was to eat. U personally like to view a menu rather than being told. We had no idea if there was a cover charge, service charge or what the cost of the food was? We ordered antipasti for 2 and ravioli for my main that consisted of 5 peices. Hardly what I would call a dinner. And expensive 89€ Bathroom very small and a shower you can hardly move in. Wifi forget it, athough its free couldn't connect and used our own 4G network. Breakfast not worth getting up for. Very little choice and nothing served hot!! Would I go back?
