I Fornari

“Great location”

Agriturismo I fornari is really perfect. We stayed there for two days. The staff is very friendly, the pool is great, the rooms are comfortable and clean, the breakfast and diner are also great. It's a very quiet and relaxed place on a hill. Also our children of 10 and 12 loved it.

I Fornari is a fantastic location at the top of a hill. Views are fantastic. Swimming pool with 20 sun-loungers. Although we were the only ones there for 2 nights - which was fantastic. We hired a car from Sorrento and drove down along the Amalfi Coast (Not as scary as advertised). 2 hours from Sorrento, I fornari was a welcome change from the coastal road. Each room has its own balcony, west facing. There are also larger 'villas' for self-catered stays. We went half-board, and the food was great. 4 course meal each night was fantastic. Majority of the produce comes from the farm itself and the food was as good as some of the restaurants we ate at along the Amalfi Coast. Especially the pasta dishes. Irene (manager) and Benjamin (head chef) were very helpful and accommodating hosts. We also did a cooking class, that was a lot of fun.

We stayed at Agriturismo i Fornari with 4 persons (2 adults, 2 children) for one week. We rented the house “Cerasella”. The road from the village to i Fornari is steep and a bit challenging, but it results in a nice view. I Fornari is situated a bit remote: The drive to the nearest village with supermarkets and restaurants takes you 10-15 minutes, including the challenging road up and down :-). The house offered enough space inside and outside and has two nice rockings-chairs on the terrace. The house was clean when we arrived, the two bathrooms were modern, the kitchen was fine with all utensils needed. There is also a washingmachine at the house and a kitchen outside. Each bedroom has an airconditioning, the kitchen does not have one. The outside pool was really beautiful, clean and also offers a beautiful view. There are three things you should know before booking: 1. Once arrived we were informed that there was a group that rented the whole main structure and had the exclusive use of the wellness center. Therefore we could not make use of all the Spa and wellness services they advertise with on the website. We were quite disappointed when we heard about this. 2. The restaurant was closed this year. Therefore, also the meal-service they advertise with was not available. 3. When checking-out we were confronted with high costs for cleaning (€100) and use of electricity (€50). We knew this had to be paid, but were surprised by the height of the cost. I can recommend I Fornari, but be sure to check if you can make use of the wellness and restaurant-service.

“Quiet, good but remote”

We stayed here with our three (small) children and booked a family room. This room is a normal hotel room of normal size, but with an extra room attached with three beds. We stayed here with our three (small) children and booked a family room. This room is a normal hotel room of normal size, but with an extra room attached with three beds. A big plus is the large balcony with excellent view. The hotel is including breakfast, which is very nice and has a lot of sweets and cakes. Diner is optional for EUR 25 pp excluding drinks. Not verycheap but of fine quality Unfortunately it does take some time to get around, as I Fornari is situated on top of a mountain. Expect at least 30 minutes before getting to the beach, nature park etc. The place is quiet; even though it was almost fully booked, there are sufficient chairs near the pool and in the restaurant. The staff is helpful in explaining the surrounding area and what to visit.
