We stayed at the hotel as part of my wife's birthday celebrations. It is a modern, clean, calming and large building set on Piazza Garibaldi in a very busy area of Naples adjacent to the main rail station. Check in was easy and friendly and we were located on a great fifth floor room overlooking the square. The room was large, well decorated and immaculately clean. Surprisingly a single free carton of water was provided on arrival - for a city as hot as Naples we would have expected this to be replenished daily but water is safe to drink from the tap. The room had a great view across to the volcano and over the noisy square. Excellent noise-proofing from the square kept the room quiet except when the restaurant above was in use and then the noise of furniture scraping on the floor shuddered through the room. This was a real shame but we got used to it after a day or so. We dined in the restaurant twice for dinner and it was excellent. A great choice of food and drink with great rooftops views. Booking was essential as it is very popular. Staff were amazing and our waitress Anna was fantastic - friendly and well organised she made our evenings very special. Francisco too was a great host. Thank you so much both. The staff at reception too were very helpful with our various enquiries and never too busy to assist. The hotel is located near to all of the sites although you will need to walk. It was ideal for trains to Pompei and Ercolano. Unfortunately the square outside is filthy, litter-strewn and inhabited by vagrants, illegal immigrants and undesirables who set up camp each night. Rats can be seen scurrying about but do not cross to the hotel. There are lots of police and security so it doesn't feel unsafe. There are many shops, cafes and restaurants very close. Communication with the hotel before the trip was excellent and they acknowledged my wife's birthday with a small gift and cake on the day. She was delighted - thank you. This is a marvellous hotel which suffers from the immediate area in which it is located. The staff, rooms, restaurant and proximity to sites make it well worth a visit.

“Lovely hotel but Napoli is an acquired taste!”

A lovely hotel with a gorgeous rooftop for breakfast and dinner/drinks area. Stunning view of mount Vesuvius from our room which was perfect. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Location is good for getting around to different destinations I.e Pompeii, Sorrento etc as this hotel is just opposit… more

A lovely hotel with a gorgeous rooftop for breakfast and dinner/drinks area. Stunning view of mount Vesuvius from our room which was perfect. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Location is good for getting around to different destinations I.e Pompeii, Sorrento etc as this hotel is just opposite the main central station. I don’t think we would stay in Napoli again I’m afraid it’s an acquired taste! If you know, you know 😂

“Convenient to train station; but loud, and bad shower”

The good: very nice staff, very convenient to train station. We booked here because we had booked a Pompeii/Herculaneum tour and this was one of the hotels that the tour would pick up at. So our first goal was convenience, and this hotel did that very well. The restaurant was pretty good - wonderful staff, good selection, we ended up eating there a couple of times. The breakfast had some vegan options which my partner appreciated. Overall seemed clean, the room was decent size. Shout out to the common area artwork featuring hotel staff members. The downsides: first, the shower was pretty awful. If it had just been adults it might've been ok, but with a small child this was really disappointing. It was like a folding booth that enclosed the shower area, did not seal fully along the bottom and the walls were not stable meaning if you bumped them even slightly (which was impossible not to do as it's about phone booth sized) the walls would sort of fold in on you and even more water got all over the place than previously due to the lack of seal. Created a huge mess even with adults being careful; with an uncoordinated child it was a bit of a water park situation and not in a good way. The other issue was that the A/C in our room did not seem to be working and our room faced the square/train station. The noise outside is incredibly loud and there aren't really quiet hours - so opening the windows overnight wasn't really an option. Very much like being in a place like New York City in terms of the noise is just unending. The soundproofing was quite good, so if the A/C had been working this would not have been an issue. If we'd been staying longer I might have asked to change rooms but we were there only 2 nights and the second night was cooler fortunately, but I'd be wary of staying here in the summer. Finally as you might expect given the noise, the traffic is bonkers out front and crossing the streets is pretty challenging. If you've traveled in or lived in a big city before you'll be fine, you just have to be confident about crossing, but this is another thing that was a bit challenging with a small kid and suitcases. tl;dr the hotel was fine for a brief stay to visit Pompeii and Herculaneum with minimum effort required (easy to get to; easy to be picked up from; easy to get our train to Venice) but if I were coming back to Naples, particularly if I was returning with a child, I'd stay somewhere quieter and off the main drag, and with a better bathroom.
