⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Grand Experience – I Will Absolutely Return I recently stayed at the San Giorgio Hotel, and I can confidently say this was a true five-star experience. The service was exceptional from start to finish. The staff was extremely generous, attentive, and genuinely committed to making my stay comfortable. Every request was handled with professionalism and warmth, which made me feel welcomed and well taken care of. My room was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged—exactly what I needed after long days of exploring. The hotel strikes a wonderful balance between classic charm and modern comfort. One detail I really appreciated was the internet service. It was fast, reliable, and easy to connect to—something that matters when traveling internationally. What truly set this hotel apart, however, was the personalized service for day trips. The staff went above and beyond to help arrange local experiences tailored specifically for me. That level of attention and customization made my time in Civitavecchia effortless and memorable. I also found everything to be very reasonable in terms of value, especially considering the quality of service and overall experience. Without question, I will be returning to the San Giorgio Hotel in the future. This stay was more than just comfortable—it was a grand experience. Highly recommended.

We had a two nights' pre-cruise stay at San Giorgio Hotel and frankly we cannot understand the negative reviews - it's like we were not in the same hotel. Actually, we were very satisfied and found no fault. A beautiful classic and classy hotel, with old world charm, warmth, and intimacy, contrary to many icy cold and impersonal modern hotels. The hotel is at the main road between the Train Station and the Cruise Terminal, at the sea front. A beautiful park with palms, nice for strolling, separates it from the sea. You can find plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. It is conveniently located close both to the Train Station and the Cruise Terminal. It is a short walking distance from the Train Station, and as to the Cruise Terminal, young people can even walk from the hotel to the ship if they desire. Elder people can go to the Train Station and get cheap, frequently running buses from there right to their specific cruise ship. From the time we entered we noted the good vibe of a classic Italian hotel, somehow reminding us of the 'Comissario Montalbano' TV series. This feel continued in our rooms. We stayed the first night at a Classic Room and the second at a Deluxe one, so we had a wider view. Both rooms were clean and tastefully decorated, with lights, TV and air-condition working fine, and the beds were comfortable.The spacious Deluxe room is like a loft, on two floors, the upper one (mezzanine) being the bedroom and the lower one a two-floor high lounge with a sofa and the toilette. Booking a Deluxe room is definitely worth it, and there are some with a balcony. Both rooms had bathrooms with full bathtub. The Deluxe room had a gorgeous bathroom with bidet and a very large bathtub. Toiletries and water pressure / temperature were fine. We found personnel and service excellent, helpful and kind. Free, good European style breakfast and free Wi-FI were very welcomed. Overall we had a beautiful stay at San Giorgio Hotel and we clearly intend to stay there again during our next stay in Civitavecchia. If like us you prefer a calm, classy and classic ambience, we absolutely recommend it.

This was booked through a travel agent who had included transfers from the hotel to the ship which were free ( I did check their webpage at the time and it was clear that this was the case, it has subsequently been changed). We stayed at this hotel prior to embarking on a cruise. This was booked through a travel agent who had included transfers from the hotel to the ship which were free ( I did check their webpage at the time and it was clear that this was the case, it has subsequently been changed). I had been advised to book the transfer times the night before, but on attempting to the receptionist informed me that he was unable to do so and I’d have to book in the morning. In the morning ( had to wait till 8am) I attended at reception and the same person was able to book me on the last transfer and then informed me that it would be 15€ per bag (size did not matter) there were 6 of us, 2 bags each = 210€ for a ten minute journey. We were two late for booking other taxis so although there was no mask or weapons I handed over the cash. That was the downside of this hotel which is unfortunate as the rest of our stay was more than acceptable, yes it is tired, but it was clean and comfortable and the food was of a good standard. I would have marked this as a solid 4 if not for the hidden transfer costs and the delay for whatever reason in not advising us of costs when first approached

This hotel proved to be a good choice for an overnight stay prior to a cruise, as it’s situated between the railway station and the cruise port. The entrance foyer is quite grand, and the welcome was warm and efficient. The bedroom was fine. Rather dated, but ok for one night. Handy to have a fridge in the room.Shower was disappointing, as water wasn’t very hot. Buffet breakfast was included, and was ok, though not a great selection - and the hot breakfast items weren’t hot. Overall, the hotel served its purpose for a quick stopover.
