“A good choice at the right price”

I booked a bargain prepaid rate at this property for one night prior to picking up a cruise at Civitavecchia. The hotel couldn’t be more convenient, as B&B 2 at Fiumicino is located right by the Rome-bound platform of Parco Leonardo station (one stop from the airport), offering step free access to the hotel itself and then back on to a train on departure to take you (with one connection) to the cruise port. A train ride into Rome itself takes just 25 minutes or so, and costs less thqn €3 each way. A single ticket to Civitavecchia is around €10. Rooms are modern, simple, clean and reasonably comfortable. The breakfast offering, however, whilst very modestly priced at €8, was mediocre, with a few rolls, pastries, yoghurts, cereals and some rather questionable-looking scrambled eggs and hot dog style sausages which were not very appetising in terms of appearance. Directly across from the B&B 2 (on the other side of the railway track) is the chain’s sister hotel (B&B 1) which is directly adjacent to a large shopping centre with a supermarket and a range of affordable eateries. At the right price, a good choice for a short stay.

We stayed at B&B Hotel Roma Fiumicino Aeroporto Fiera 2 at the beginning and end of our trip. With a late arrival and early departure, we were able to use the train to get to the hotel and booked a shuttle for the return. The train is a convenient way to reach the airport and downtown Rome, and having the shuttle is an excellent option when the train isn't operating. Check-in/out was a breeze and we found the front desk staff friendly, but we've found that to be the case everywhere when we at least attempt to communicate in Italian rather than speaking "English" to people exclusively. The mall across the tracks is part of the reason we selected this hotel. When dealing with jet lag, the food court to get a meal at any time of day and a cool air-conditioned mall area to stroll around was extremely helpful. There's also a supermarket and large pharmacy to pick up essentials. The rooms are basic, but we found our room to be clean and functional. I've seen other reviews describing the rooms as "no frills" but we appreciated the minimalist design and smooth surfaces throughout for sanitary reasons. Plenty of charging options including USB and USB-C built into the headboard with small shelves for your phone and other items. The bathroom was clean, included a bidet, and the shower was decently sized with nice hot water. The bed was comfortable and we really appreciated the signs around the elevators and in the hallway urging people to be respectful and not talk loudly in the hallways. For a busy hotel, it was surprisingly quiet. Combined with good blackout curtains, it really helped to get a good night of sleep. Breakfast was extensive with plenty of options. Nothing fancy, but more than enough options to find something. This hotel and their sister property appear to be used quite a bit by tour groups, and for good reason. We spent no time in Rome on this trip beyond our arrival and departure day, and this was a good option for flying in/out of FCO .

The hotel is convenient for an overnight airport stay. However, as others mentioned in their reviews, the airport shuttle location is not easily found. The description provided by the hotel is outdated, and the diagram is unclear. I waited more than an hour despite arriving in time for a scheduled pickup. Unfortunately, I was standing in the wrong location as it was difficult to figure out from the diagram. I called the hotel several times and was on hold for quite some time, never transferred to the appropriate person. I queried airport staff and other shuttle companies when they pulled up. I was eventually directed to the correct lane, but even then, the stall shown on the diagram was not correct. A driver from another company directed me to a different stall and radioed the driver of the shuttle I needed. My driver was kind enough to forgo the charges after she saw the map I'd been given by the hotel. In the end, I waited almost two hours to get the shuttle. Once I was in my room, I requested a change as a presumably young couple in the room next door were engaged in activities of passion. I heard every moan and groan. Beware that the walls are paper thin. There is a convenient mall across the street with lots of stores and dining venues. The hotel's breakfast buffet is pretty minimum and packed with young travelers.

Very convenient location one stop from Fiumicino by a (very expensive) rail link which charges the same price if you are travelling just 2-3 minutes or 20-25 minutes or so into central Rome. Stayed for one night before a cruise. Very convenient location one stop from Fiumicino by a (very expensive) rail link which charges the same price if you are travelling just 2-3 minutes or 20-25 minutes or so into central Rome. A payable coach shuttle from the airport was apparently also available. The hotel is right by the station exit at Parco Leonardo and directly opposite a large shopping centre. The lobby and breakfast areas were small and somewhat cramped but the room itself was spacious and reasonably clean and comfortable. The bathroom had gloomy, dark tiling and was poorly lit and could have been cleaner / better presented, with lots of limescale on the taps and other chrome fixtures. Breakfast the following morning was OK but nothing special. The usual typically Italian selection of breads, jam-filled croissants, tarts and other sweet items with some limited hot food choices. I’d stay again in similar circumstances but would not feel inclined to recommend this hotel as I’m sure there are better choices available.
