We' ve booked few days vacations in Rome. Since it was our first time in Rome, I was searching for a good hotel, central but quiet. L' Antica Locanda dell Orso it has everything someone would need: its location is too central but away from noise, you can go everywhere by foot. The room is cozy, modern, in nice colors and window can be full opened or just a little bit. The bathroom is so nice and you can have your shower in the cabin, without throwing water around. Both room and bathroom have great lights. Signora Sara in the reception is kind and friendly! Also, I have to congratulate the lady who cleans the rooms: every day was cleaning perfectly and room always smelled so nice. Me and my family, we are all full satisfied with our selection and we recommend L' Antica Locanda dell Orso to everyone who needs a safe, central but quiet spot to stay, in the heart of Rome.

“Good but not great”

Great location. Has a nice small elevator. Reception is only available until 9pm. We had an issue after 9pm and called the number left at the front desk and sent emails with no replies. We were able to find an electrical panel and flip the breaker eventually. Bathrooms are very tiny. Air condi… more

Great location. Has a nice small elevator. Reception is only available until 9pm. We had an issue after 9pm and called the number left at the front desk and sent emails with no replies. We were able to find an electrical panel and flip the breaker eventually. Bathrooms are very tiny. Air conditioning was sufficient. Very basic hotel with comfy beds and pillows.

“Great Hotel with only few disadvantages ☺️”

Very quiet, Centrally located , Clean and neat room.There are some disadvantages though.. Loose shower , wifi couldnt connect well couldnt even use instagram had to use the data 😢. Lift is quite small but it does the job well.I think that this hotel was very nice , if it fixed these small things it… more

“Location, location, location”

Location is the key here and in that respect, this guesthouse cannot be faulted. We chose it because it was in walking distance of all of Rome's main sites, (1 mile/20 minutes from the Vatican) and 1.5 miles/30 minutes from the Colosseum). Location is the key here and in that respect, this guesthouse cannot be faulted. We chose it because it was in walking distance of all of Rome's main sites, (1 mile/20 minutes from the Vatican) and 1.5 miles/30 minutes from the Colosseum). The entrance door in a small 'back street' but you are only yards away from Ponte Umberto I bridge across the River Tiber with the Ponte Sant'Angelo the next one along. It is also an easy stroll to the Centro Storico and having flown in from Rome Ciampino Airport - via the shuttle bus and train - to Roma Termini (the city's main train station), we went two stops down on the Metro (it was quite the walk from the main station to the underground) to Spagna by the Spanish Steps, and walked in from there. The room was fairly basic but clean. However, the walls would appear to be very thin as we could hear everything from our neighbours who woke up at 5am and proceeded to be very noisy for a long time, chatting to each other, generally banging about and even using the hair dryer, which was rather annoying.
