Let's face it,you are looking at this hotel because you want to save some money while staying in Rome. This review I decided to do at an9ther format-first a small tip,and then pros and cons.. The first thing I want to say is that if you do not know where it is,it will be hard to find. There is a little farmacy at the back of Termini station,and right across from it is the tunnel that leads to Tokyo hotel. There is almost no signs indicating its existence,you need to go into the building across from Termini and there you will see a sign-tokyo hotel,4th floor. Pros: Helpful receptionist,with decent English,drew us a map,gave us helpful tips The lady cleaned the rooms every day Free wi fi Water is drinkable Cons: First day the room was super disgusting,probably because it wasn't used for long The curtain fell on us when we tried to open it(but the lady fixed it without any fuss) Because it is adjacent to Terministation,it was super loud all night There was like a draft or something and when somebody opened the other rooms doors,your own door had a little slam as if someone is entering your premises You can hear everything happening in the other rooms and corridor

I stayed in Hotel Tokyo for three nights and one night was more than enough for me. Initially, difficult to find it is located opposite Termini, disguised within Hotel Viennese. The elevator is an indicator of things to come, with shoddy appearance. The staff were rarely present and communication was a little difficult as my Italian is basic. The room itself was fine, clean and spacious with a desk, bed, wardrobe and chair. However, the bed had broken slats that had not been properly reinstalled and every single night, I would have to sit carefully on the bed or they fell off. It was comfortable though but I was constantly worried about falling through the bed. The shared bathroom was clean enough, but the shower head only sprayed about 7 shoots of water, which meant for a very poor shower experience. It also took a very long time for it to get to a decent temperature. Security, or lack of, was also an issue as I was a solo traveller and there was no secure box to put valuables in. The hotel doesn't offer baggage hold service. So bare that in mind if your onward travel is later in the day. The location is the only positive about this hotel as it is really easy to find your way back as it is right next to the central station, but there are plenty of other hotels in the same location that would be better to stay at. Overall, this hotel offers little for your money, you might consider all other local hotel options before this one.
