Just a few important points to start off: the new/official name is Vatican Treasure. It is not a hotel but serviced apartments in a big building which also includes private residences. Rooms are on 4th and 5th floor with a small shared seating/kitchen area. Very nice antique lift, small and probably too tight for a wheelchair but functional for a few persons or to take your luggage up/down. Good location on a shopping street (branded stores and local stores) and about 10 minutes walk to Vatican Museums, Saint Peter's Square or Castel d'Angelo. Busline 81 stops in front of the building. Rooms are good, modern style and all necessary amenities. Kettle and Dolce Gusto pod coffe machine, small fridge, bathroom with shower, toilet and bidet. Airconditioning and possibility to open the windows. No safety box in the room. Sofa which can also be used as a bed for third person/child. Although it is not a hotel, the apartments are cleaned and coffee/tea/toiletries restocked every day. Two drawbacks: the WiFi is not that good, disconnects quite often, and traffic noise from the street in front can be heard. So if you have trouble sleeping, bring some earplugs or select a room at the back. For us it was not much of an issue, but you can hear the traffic when you are in the room and window is closed. Booked this through booking.com. You can take the shuttle bus, the offer of 55€ for a taxi i good if you can share this with other people. Booked this through booking.com. You can take the shuttle bus, the offer of 55€ for a taxi i good if you can share this with other people. The bus takes you to termini, there you can take a metro to ottovani, then it's only a 5 min walk. The room is in a residential place and just call the "reception" on the number that was supplied. We had to wait 30 mins for them to arrice, which is a long time. The room that was offered we refused as this was a room looking out on the street and the windows don't close properly. We were offered a room on the 5th floor. The rooms are small and noisy as the walls are very thin. We didn't get the welcome drink as was promised. There is coffee in the room (2 pads). The airco was not working properly as the batteries were flat, so i bought batteries myself. Don't put the airco to low as then the device makes a strange noise (21 and quiet, is ok). Cleaning was not done properly (old soap and nails in the bathroom). Summary The price was very reasonable. The location is good if you want to visit the vatican. The metro is closeby.
