It took a few tries to connect with Laura to confirm our arrival, but once we connected, she couldn't have been a better hostess. The building is charming and we enjoyed the quiet town of San Giovanni. The center of Bellagio is about a mile away and a pleasant walk, though there is also a small train you can catch just about a block away. When we did arrive, Laura kindly welcomed us, showed us our apartment, the breakfast room, and then we accepted her offer of a ride into Bellagio as we wanted to explore the area and were unfamiliar. That was definitely exceptional service! Our apartment was huge, and we loved the space to spread out. We are walkers/ hikers, so didn't mind the steps, but it was about 4 flights up. (Good exercise!) Windows are high in this lovely finished attic apartment and offer gorgeous views on 3 sides. The breakfast was wonderful with meats, eggs, cheeses, fruits, pastries, and more. Just steps away there is an excellent restaurant for dinner that is understated from the outside, but very nice decor inside and serves excellent local food with excellent service. There is also a nice Cafe just around the corner for an afternoon drink and snack. We'd happily return and highly recommend this B&B!

“Couples stay in Bellagio”

A fantastic stay, location and staff! My wife and I stayed here for our first ever trip to Italy and we were blown away by the hospitality of the staff. “Great B&B near Bellagio”

Only stayed one night, but it was great. Wonderful room and quiet. Very nice buffet breakfast with the wonderful fresh croissants and local cheese. Our host was wonderful as well. We didn't see the famous Bruno though. Would recommend the tram or a taxi or local bus to get there as it is 0.9 miles … more

Only stayed one night, but it was great. Wonderful room and quiet. Very nice buffet breakfast with the wonderful fresh croissants and local cheese. Our host was wonderful as well. We didn't see the famous Bruno though. Would recommend the tram or a taxi or local bus to get there as it is 0.9 miles mostly uphill from Bellagio with your luggage etc. But it is a lovely scenic walk from their location in San Giovanni to Bellagio. There are some local places to eat nearby, contrary to some reviewers saying there were hardly any. Ittiturismo Ristorante Mella is located almost right next door. NeNe Food is on the small walkway behind the B&B. Riverside snack bar is on Via Alla Spiaggia. Ristorante Silvio and Alle Darsene di Loppia are located a short walk away as well. We would highly recommend this B&B.

My sister and I stayed at this BnB for 2 nights. It is a 25 min walk to the town of Bellagio and you can pass through the lovely Villa Melzi on the way. It is actually located in San Giovanni with the ferry conveniently just outside the hotel, from here you can easily explore the towns surrounding the lake. We arrived after 6pm on the first night, by which point the reception had closed. We had trouble finding a taxi, so I called the BnB for some advice and Laura very kindly came to pick us up. On the way to the hotel she told us about the area and suggested places we might like to visit. She also recommended the restaurant next door called Ittiturismo Mella (delicious and well priced!) and how it’s important to prebook. Once at the hotel, an envelope was left outside with my name. This had some instructions and our room key card. The room was very nice. It had A/C, a fridge, was spacious, very clean and the beds were comfy. The breakfast the next morning was good; fruit, pastries, cereal and the option to make a sandwich or simply have some toast. We saw Laura again this morning at check out and she offered some valuable advice on getting back to Milan. We didn’t realise there was a direct train from Varenna! (We originally took trains to Saronno and then to Como, followed by the ferry to Bellagio). She provided us with a schedule of train times and was again a huge help. Thank you so much Laura! We look forward to visiting again. 100% recommend.
