We stayed here for two nights and basically chose it because it had a pool and a reasonable price for our room, which was large, clean and had a balcony with a lovely view. We were pleasantly surprised to find that it also had a lovely garden and stunning views right across Lago Maggiore. We only wanted to relax but I imagine it would be a great base for people wanting to visit this beautiful part of Italy. The hotel doesn't have a restaurant but can supply snacks and drinks by the pool. There is also a restaurant literally next to the hotel so no need to use the car if you don't feel like it, although you certainly need a car to get around. The restaurant is rather dated, but our pizza was fine. If you go up to the third floor, there is a five-minute walk you can do that takes you to a scenic vantage point for some great photos. The hotel is on a road but there is no traffic noise at all. There is a varied and copious breakfast. All-in-all, a very pleasant stay.

We booked this hotel specifically for the pool and location. The hotel is ok; our room felt quite dated though and not that clean with marks on the walls and a grubby looking carpet (though it could just be as it was old). We booked this hotel specifically for the pool and location. The hotel is ok; our room felt quite dated though and not that clean with marks on the walls and a grubby looking carpet (though it could just be as it was old). Our room was on the side so we didn't have much of a view, but it seemed the rooms at the front had parquet floors and a terrace and probably a much better view. The staff were friendly and pleasant. Breakfast is served until 9:30 but on last day it was being cleared away at 9:15/2ish. Maybe we should have arrived earlier but this seemed a bit strange. The pool area is peaceful and clean, and the pizzeria next door is nice enough too.

We chose the hotel Lo Scoiattolo because we wanted a lower price hotel for our first night since we would arrive quite late in the region. The hotel is simple and good for a 1-night stay. The rooms are clean and bed comfortable (the decoration could be upgraded!). The breakfast is quite simple also, but with good options. The staff put a lot of heart on it and they make the difference. The only disappointment was that the hotel is a little outside of the village. The photos shown on the internet gave me the impression that the hotel was in the village.
