My wife was attending a meeting down the lake, but after doing some research, we decide we wanted to stay in Stresa. I found all of the excellent TA reviews of this hotel and their reasonable rates and booked it. We spent an excellent week here. Our room (105) is the one with the balcony that is the roof of the ground floor. It is huge and a great place to have your coffee in the morning or a drink at night while looking at the stars. In fact, our view of the lake from this room is one of the best views we have had anywhere. The room is spacious and has a kitchenette, which was great to have. All of the staff were friendly and quite helpful in booking tours, etc. I highly recommend this hotel if you are in Stresa.

“Clean, quiet and charming.”

Clean, quiet and charming. On our Italian trip I got a cold so my sister and I needed to have separate accommodation rather than the two bedroom place that we had intended on sharing. I am so glad that the La Luna was able to accommodate us. It has the bones of an old hotel with huge windows and high ceilings (I would love to see how it was originally decorated - it had had an 80"s redo). Our ground floor rooms had doors that opened onto grass patios. The views over the lake were amazing - we were there for thunder, lightning and rain - watching it come in over the lake was unbelievable as were the rainbows afterward. The heat was not yet on for the season (this was true for everywhere we stayed - it is not turned on until November 1 ) so they provided dimplex heaters. There are washers and dryers available. Breakfast was an extra cost and it was very good. And there was an additional cost for using the kitchens in the rooms. The staff were pleasant, efficient and helpful. The hotel is across the street from Lake Maggiore which is such a beautiful lake. The hotel is located up the street from the main shopping area of Stresa which is an absolutely charming village. It is also located up the street from the ferry dock. The ferry takes one to the lovely little islands in the lake. I wish I could figure out an easy way to get from my home on the west coast of Canada to Stresa and the La Luna because it would be my go to summer place if I could!!

lovely hotel with a view of the lake and very friendly staff; we would stay there again; 2 breakfast options available, also a washing machine that we should have used

Highly recommend for the extra helpful staff, perfect location and patio with beautiful lake views. We had lots of space in our first floor apartment with a big sitting area, bedroom and nice patio which worked great for our byob happy hour each night. Highly recommend for the extra helpful staff, perfect location and patio with beautiful lake views. We had lots of space in our first floor apartment with a big sitting area, bedroom and nice patio which worked great for our byob happy hour each night. Also discovered a funky beach bar/putt putt place a short walk along the lake - Lov Beach Bar and Lounge.
