Hotel Atlantic Palace

“Great boutique hotel in the heart of Firenza.”

The hotel was very well located. The food in the area was very good. Breakfast was plentiful. But the best part was the relationship established with managers Diego and Massimo. They were extremely friendly and helpful, as this was our first time in Florence (Firenza).

I'll start by saying that it doesn't deserve 4 stars at all, the rooms have very old furniture. I stayed in the hotel for one night and there was no hot water, I took a cold shower. I called the reception to check the problem but I didn't get an answer. When I went down to talk to the reception, although the person at the reception was there, he simply ignored the phone that rang continuously and then started saying that he thought that day there was a problem with the central heating and that he couldn't do anything until the next day. Even the next day nothing was done about the hot water, we vacated the room at lunchtime and the water was still cold. Another problem was the heat, there was only one radiator that at some point broke down and didn't heat at all. Another problem was the water leaking from somewhere in the bathroom because there was always water on the floor, I had to stand with a towel on the floor. Also, keep in mind that the hotel is located on a not exactly ok street, in the evening there were a lot of suspicious people in the area. It's a 20 minute walk from the center. The parking was very ok, paid, inside, the garage guys come and take the car. Varied breakfast, friendly staff, too bad they're put in crappy situations when they have to lie to customers to cover up poor management.

We drove straight past the Hotel upon arrival since its entire facade was covered in dust sheets and was hidden from view. We called the Hotel “Tarpaulin Towers”. The building work did not disturb us. Not a lot of soundproofing from neighbouring rooms. Very comfortable bed; the sheets seemed to be thin and not quite fit the bed. The television offered a couple of English speaking channels. Good breakfast provision and well staffed. Vehicle parking was an option; and our car was looked after properly. The hot water tap could not keep up with patrons’ demand one morning; but for the rest of the time the situation was satisfactory -so just about achieving an average rating.

Hotel is situated in the heart of Florence. It has a warm atmosphere with friendly and helpful front desk staff. The rooms were a descent size and were very clean. The room however was cold, but had no heating. There was scaffolding outside our window that obstructed our view of the city. It had a descent breakfast with good service. Hotel was situated in a good location. walking distance to many things.
