Our room was as shown in the picture. Installation was impeccable. We felt comfortable. Personnel is diligent. At reception we were pleased to have been attended many times by Antonio and Stefano. Both wore a smile. Don’t doubt to ask them anything more than just to drop off and pick up your room key. Location of the hotel is remarkable.

“A Hotel with a welcome gift”

Arrived to find the Hotel doing justice to the pictures we had seen on line. Warm welcome from staff both rooms were beautiful with all you could wish for fridge telephone and safe plus TV we did only manage News in English. Arrived to find the Hotel doing justice to the pictures we had seen on line. Warm welcome from staff both rooms were beautiful with all you could wish for fridge telephone and safe plus TV we did only manage News in English. Every where was spotless and that was repeated every day. Staff in all areas were friendly and helpful and food first class.

Excellent location on the river Arno. Conveniently located for all of the sights and shopping areas of Florence. Staff were all formally dressed, immaculately turned out and attentive. It’s a very traditional hotel, with what many might describe as old fashioned decor and furniture but it’s beautiful, immaculate and something of a maze to navigate around! Beds were comfortable, pillows rather thin and disappointing. On the first night, staff came in to turn down the bed, leave out slippers and switch on lamps, which was welcoming when we returned. Breakfast is good, though not much variation and it would have been nice to have full fat Greek yoghurt offered, not just low fat. One other constructive criticism is that we asked for a glass of red wine at the bar upon our return to the hotel on our last night but were given wine from the ‘last bottle that had been opened’. It wasn’t good. It would have been nice to be able to select our own wine. A lovely stay, overall.

The hotel is the perfect location and the included breakfast had a great selection which was lovely. The problem I had was the toilet was broken in my first room. Someone came to fix it but it broke again the following morning. I called reception who said they’d send someone to fix it again but I asked to be moved as I didn’t want to call them every time I went to the loo. They said they would move me and would move my luggage to the new room for when I returned from an excursion. The annoying thing was I had to repack everything I’d unpacked the night before which made me miss breakfast as I had to be at a meeting point for an excursion. When I returned I was given another key. I went to the new room which was half the size of the previous one and no luggage had been delivered. I went back to reception and said I had paid for a classic double and the new room is half the size of the previous one. They looked completely put out and annoyed at me but gave me a key to another room which was similar size to the first one but not as nice. I couldn’t be bothered to complain again. Maybe it’s me but I expect a 4 star hotel to have tea and coffee making facilities but the three rooms I’d been in didn’t. Reception told me to ask the bar staff as I’d asked them for a kettle (brought my own tea bags). The barman like reception appeared annoyed at me for asking and told me there were 87 rooms and they didn’t have 87 kettles. At this point I was annoyed because I felt like my holiday time was being wasted by this hotel so I said well how many do you have and can you deliver one to my room. A kettle did appear in my room when I returned later. As mentioned hotel in great location and breakfast good but the rooms need to be upgraded to a 4 star and the reception/bar need to be more accommodating rather than appearing irritated when a guest is asking for something basic and what they’ve paid for.
