“Great value for the price and a great location”

We chose this hotel because of the price and the location. It was great value for money. It was spotlessly clean, the lady who checked us in was really nice and friendly. The only issue was that the room got quite warm at night so we opened the windows and there was some noise from the tatty bar next door. The front door does get looked after 10pm and this hotel doesnt have a 24 hour reception, so my only concern is if you loose your keys are the contact details easily available. Other than that we were more than happy with our stay here and would recommend it to Tripadvisor.

“Did what it said on the tin............”

We were in Florence for 2 nights, having travelled from our base in Milan by train. So we wanted a relatively inexpensive hotel, close to the city centre and the train station, with a comfortable bed and a decent shower. And that's what we got. It's a 1 star hotel, so it's bound to be basic: but as long as it's clean, happy days. And this pension was very clean. We really didn't have much interaction with the staff, but they were friendly when we did see them. If I'm being ultra critical, the shower head had to be held rather than perched in the holder, but hardly a major issue. I'd read before that there is some noise from the street at night, and as we were in a room overlooking the street and above an Irish bar, sure enough there was. It kept my wife awake for a couple of hours on the second evening, however I slept like the proverbial log. At our advanced age (late 50's) we probably do now need a little more comfort and quiet, although that comes at a price. Given the other costs associated with a stay in Florence, and if you need to keep spending down, give this place a go.

“Nice pension”

The hotel is small, clean, friendly and helpful staff. The room was extremely clean. Every day we found our room in order, towels and sheets were bright white, the bathroom clean and shiny. The hotel is small, clean, friendly and helpful staff. The room was extremely clean. Every day we found our room in order, towels and sheets were bright white, the bathroom clean and shiny. Very good and comfort shower cabin. The room has pretty spartan furniture, so if you need more comfort it is not here, but for us it was more then good. After long day of walking, to take a good shower and fall to the bed. The mattress is comfortable, pillows as well. There is air conditioner, but sometimes it suddenly stopped to work... Our room was above pub, all night long crowded, but the dowble windows were good enough to let us sleep well. The place in very good location, close to Sant Mary station and in 5-10 minutes walking to the most important places. No breakfast, but you can find coffee shop nearby, not a big deal. Overall the place is very good to stay, if you don't pretend to more comfort.

“Great location but has a few issues”

Stayed at Hotel Sole for 2 nights. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The staff seem friendly although the guy who greeted us, although pleasant, could have been happier. The reception is only open from 1400 to 2100. You may need to make arrangement should you arrive outside these times… more

Stayed at Hotel Sole for 2 nights. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The staff seem friendly although the guy who greeted us, although pleasant, could have been happier. The reception is only open from 1400 to 2100. You may need to make arrangement should you arrive outside these times. The is no breakfast but for a couple of euros they will make you a coffee. There are plenty of bars around however. There is wifi and the rooms have a small tv, desk and wardrobe. The location of this place is the reason I stayed. I was travelling Italy by train so picked this place due to its proximity to the station. The walk takes about ten minutes and take you right past Santa Maria Novella. You will also only be about ten minutes from the Duomo. There are a few down sides however. There is an Irish bar next door and despite being on the 4th floor and with windows fully closed, it kept us up the first night for a while. The stairs/lift area smells like drains but there was no such smell in the actual hotel or outside. The air con did not work either. The walls of the rooms are quite thin too...one can hear all sorts. If I was to return to Florence I would probably put my hands in my pockets a little more.
