We stayed at Villa Antea from 3rd March to 7th March 2020 just before Italy was in lock down due to coronavirus. We cannot praise Villa Antea or the owner enough, everything was perfect, the Villa is as beautiful as the website photos suggest and our room was very comfortable, spacious and we had everything we needed. The Villa is very conveniently located being in a quiet residential district but within walking distance of the sights. We walked everywhere and only used a tram once when we were tired. There are some lovely local restaurants and the Villa Antea guide which we were given was very useful for choosing restaurants, getting around etc. This was a very difficult time for the tourist industry in Florence however the owner could not do enough for us, gave us very good information and advice and ensured our first visit to Florence was a very memorable one. If you are going to Florence this is the place to stay! We thought it was also very good value.

“Perfect Spot in Beautiful City”

Really loved the staff, the room was fantastic and it really brought us into the feel of the city. The bathroom as huge as well as the bed. The decor was very nicely done and everything felt clean and tidy, I would recommend this hotel and would come back!

Villa Antea is a beautifully appointed and elegant family-run establishment that served as an ideal base for our four nights and five days in Florence. The location is pretty good - close enough to the places you want to see but also offering a "suburban" perspective of Florence. We felt quite safe strolling through the area late at night. If you want to walk into the old centre it takes about 20-30 minutes to reach the Duomo precinct and there are any number of routes you can take which provide different insights into the city. An alternative is the local bus service. There is a stop less than 10 minutes from Villa Antea and we never waited long at all. It currently costs 1.50 euros for 90 mins, and you can purchase tickets from reception. A taxi into the old city is also relatively inexpensive outside the peak periods. We arrived in Florence by car and while parking on the property is a bit of a squeeze, it was secure. We booked an executive room which was truly fantastic. The bedroom and the bathroom were both huge, as was the bed, and very clean. The breakfast was typically Italian fare but with enough choice to satisfy two vegetarians. And if you're dog lovers and missing your own pooches like us you'll find two very adorable substitutes awaiting you. We would be remiss, too, if we did not acknowledge the cheerfully helpful Bogdan who was our primary point of contact during the stay at Villa Antea. Thanks!
