Arriving at the B&B is like being welcomed into a warm family home. Giovanna and Francesco are such lovely hosts and we felt really comfortable during our stay. The towels and linen are very good quality and we were surprised how large our room and bathroom was as the website doesn’t do them justice. Breakfasts are quite amazing with so much food brought to the table and it was enough to set us up for the day. The location is perfect, just a few minutes walk to the station and another ten minutes to the city walls. We loved everything about our stay and hope to be able to return

“A charming oasis in Lucca”

This was our first time in Lucca, and we fell in love with the city, thanks in big part to this beautiful, quaint home. The hosts are lovely and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable, each wits its unique charm. The homemade breakfasts were the best we've ever had. We will surely be back.

What a wonderful B&B! My wife and I stayed five nights. The room was comfortable, clean and characterful. While unassuming from the outside, the house itself is a treat - breakfast is served on an enclosed terrace overlooking a lovely large private garden filled with colorful flowers and fruite trees. The breakfasts were bountiful and delicious. The hostess, Giovanna, is welcoming and very helpful - she got us reservations at a restaurant which was "totally booked" for weeks in advance. The location is nearby to the train station (making day-trips and connections easy) and perhaps a five minute walk from the city walls and gate into the old town. An excellent value and a place to which we will return if ever we are back in Lucca.

It is very difficult to write a less than stellar review of a family-run establishment with a lovely host. But the opinions stated below are purely mine and may not reflect the opinions of other guests. First the pros: 1. convenient location right outside the walls of Lucca next to the train station. There is a parking space available if you need one. 2. Large and fluffy towels - usually, my pet peeve with 3-star hotels 3. a lovely hostess 4. nice and plentiful breakfast served in a lovely garden room. Cons (for me) 1. the house is old and historic, and it feels it. Not in a good way for me. It had an old-house smell and looked like an antiques shop 2. the owners live in the house and you encounter family members in the common areas. Also, you know you are in someone's house because the family room has family photos displayed everywhere. Some people might find that charming, I felt a bit uncomfortable. 3. speaking of common areas, the lovely breakfast room and the living room are closed to the guests after breakfast. So there is no place to hang out other than your room. 4. the bathroom is very clean but could be upgraded. So the bottomline is that this kind f establishments aren't for me. I am giving it 4 stars though, trying to be fair.
