“Recommended”

Great location with onsite free parking just outside the city wall. Rooms were well decorated with comfortable beds and good sitting areas as well plenty of towels. Great location with onsite free parking just outside the city wall. Rooms were well decorated with comfortable beds and good sitting areas as well plenty of towels. It was quieter than we’d expected and the little garden looked like an oasis for the summer. The staff were very helpful, recommending key places to visit and giving good, inexpensive dinner recommendations. The property overall is characterful. The breakfast room was rather dark and breakfast itself leaned heavily to sweet stuff, something we found elsewhere in Italy. Overall I would thoroughly recommend this place, especially for a one nighter closeish to Pisa.

This hotel is located a stone's throw of the Elisa archway that leads you into the walled city centre. It had parking which was a relief. The rooms were spacious and clean. This hotel is located a stone's throw of the Elisa archway that leads you into the walled city centre. It had parking which was a relief. The rooms were spacious and clean. The manager was very accommodating (pardon the pun) and very helpful. The continental breakfast was plentiful and expansive. We were even allowed to leave our car after we checked out so that we could explore the city!

There are no recent reviews of this lovely B&B and it's difficult to understand why, or why the Oct 2020 and Oct 2021 reviews are so negative. There are no recent reviews of this lovely B&B and it's difficult to understand why, or why the Oct 2020 and Oct 2021 reviews are so negative. We stayed for just one night but could happily have stayed longer (there's much to see in Lucca and it makes for a nicer base than Pisa and a much calmer base than Firenze). It's clean, calm, reasonably cool in (non-air conditioned) public areas thanks to all the marble, and fircely cold in the bedroom, despite outside temperatures of 35-37 C. Hot shower and lovely towels. Breakfast can be taken in the dining room or out in the garden and included hot bacon and eggs along with pastries, cake, fruit, yoghurt, juice, tea/coffee etc. The location is excellent, just outside the city walls and with free parking in the courtyard. If you look on Google streetview there is a gate just next to the building with a Lucca in Villa sign; it doesn't look wide enough to fit a car down the side of the building but, trust me, it is.
