I stayed for 4 nights at Residenza d’Epoca Palazzo Borghese in Siena in January 2026. Staying here offered a unique opportunity to experience life in a Palazzo in Siena's historic center. The rooms were comfortable and quiet, furnished tastefully. The location was within a short walking distance of the Duomo, Piazza del Campo, and other major sites. Restaurants, stores, and shops are all within a few steps of the front door. Samantha was an excellent host who went out of her way to ensure our stay was enjoyable. Samantha and her staff beautifully maintain the public areas, providing a pleasant space for breakfast and for relaxing by the fireplace after a day of exploring Siena. Samantha knew a great deal about the building's history and shared many stories and photos of its owners. Staying at Residenza d’Epoca Palazzo Borghese enhanced my time in Siena significantly. I would stay here again and highly recommend it to others.

“Beautiful historic Apartment Superb Location”

We stayed in the Blue room for a week and loved this apartment. The beautiful historical decor , comfortable and spacious rooms and lovely staff with a special mention of Samantha made this a great stay. The location so close to the cathedral and The Piazza del Campo meant we could easily visit all major attractions and have excellent bars and restaurants virtually at our front door door.

“Great location. Nice place to stay, but could use a little love”

This boutique, historic B & B is really nice and has the potential to be outstanding. The staff is very accommodating and the location is excellent. We stayed in the Rosea Ansidonia room. This boutique, historic B & B is really nice and has the potential to be outstanding. The staff is very accommodating and the location is excellent. We stayed in the Rosea Ansidonia room. It is smaller than depicted in the photos, but a good size for Italy and Europe, with everything you need. The view from the window was superb and it did have a larger, updated bathroom with shower. The common areas have several beautiful Murano glass light fixtures including an amazing chandelier. Overall, however, the hotel is a little dark and in need of sprucing up. Some of the furniture, decor, fake plants, etc have seen better days and either need a good cleaning or replacing. Upholstery, bedspreads etc have seen better days. It was also a bit odd that you had to order breakfast for your stay when you arrive by checking items off of a sheet of paper. So you couldn't decide what you felt like eating the morning of. But that is minor. It was still an enjoyable stay and we might consider staying again. Its very nice, but could be an extraordinary hotel with a minor facelift.

The Residenza D’Epoca Palazzo Borghesi is lovely. I knew there was something special when I saw the front doors with their carved faces! We were early so it was arranged that the woman running the souvenir shop next door would let us in to store our bags over by the lift. When we checked in our rooms, Opera and Pompei were amazing - the attention to detail is wonderful (walls and ceiling painting and furniture). The staff are excellent - helpful and efficient. The Residenza is on one floor in a building that was built in the 1400's for a Borghesi Pope. A comprehensive and faithful restoration was done 1215/16 (there is a photobook of the process). There is a charming rooftop deck that gives a marvelous view. The bathrooms were modern. There were lots of electrical plugs. The breakfast (which is extra) was very good. The Residenza is very centrally located - a brief walk over to the beautiful Duomo and a brief walk down to Il Campo. There was some street noise from the Opera room but the Pompei room was pretty quiet . The only downside to the Residenza is accessibility. The lift is very small and our rooms had stairs to get to get into them . The Pompei room stairs were particularly steep.
