“Good hotel”

Nice standard hotel in abano terme town center with private parking, clean ordinary room, good buffet breakfast friendly staff and first at alla a nice swimming pool with hot water so you Candy swim also in winter. Pool is not big and not good for swimming but just for Have fun.

Place has come into The years need renovation of rooms. Staff some are very friendly some could use some training in this respect. Breakfast average by common standard. Breakfast room more like a railway station no atmosphere, nothing. Pool area is fine small but clean and well maintained

Stayed 2 nights here with the family. The hotel is decorated in a really old fashioned style (like the majority of hotels in abano) , infact we were a little worried when we saw the outside and the reception/bar area because it was like being transported at least 60 years back in time. However the hotel has a nice clean cotton smell in the corridors and the rooms have updated decor/flooring in a vintage style. Simple and clean with a small balcony with table and chairs. The staff are very friendly and efficient and made our stay nice. They have a pool with indoor/outdoor part that is heated well and of a good size. They do acqua gym too at certain hours. BUT...The hydro massage pool, sauna with aromatherapy showers and a walking water treatment area are only switched on between 9-12am and 3-7pm. This is ridiculous! Most of the hotel guests are staying half or full board and so are not in the pool at lunch time however the other guests who are breakfast only are in the pool! I had to wait 3 hours to be able to use them because the hotel switches them off obviously to save money. Invest in buttons so guests can switch these things on themselves whilst in the pool! It's not fair on breakfast only or room only guests at all who have paid to use these facilities! Pool bar is closed at lunch time too because the member of staff is on lunch?!! Had to wait until almost 3pm for a cheese toastie. If you want your sandwich for lunch you have to order day before or eat before 12 that day. Who on earth seriously knows if they want a toastie the day before. Had to leave the hotel which I didn't want to do in order to buy a bottle of water during the bar closing time! Overall would I go back? Maybe because of the pools, large garden area, free parking and friendly staff.

Hotel Terme Patria was built in 1948. Considering it age, it is very well maintained but it could use a bit of a refresh. There seem to be a lot of hotels in Abano which are of the same vintage and which are also maintained mostly in their original style. The real star of this location is the thermal mineral water pools. The same water is used in mud treatments, augmenting the already special qualities of the mud. I did not opt for the mud treatment but I did enjoy the pool. If you want to try the mud treatment they recommend repeated applications over 6 or 12 days. The hotel seems to attract an older clientele, mainly Italian, with some German and French guests. They are slowly increasing the amount of information available in English at Hotel Terme Patria. There were no English TV channels but there is free wifi so my kids were able to watch TV online. Like other spa hotels in Abano, the thermal mineral water in the hotel pools have long believed to yield therapeutic benefits, from alleviating sore muscles, arthritis, joint pain, varicose veins, etc., even gout! These pools contain hot water that is actually cooler than when it comes out of the ground at around 85 degrees C. In the room I stayed in I could feel the mattress springs but it was comfortable enough and there was air conditioning which was welcome when it was close to 40 degrees C outside. The room was clean but the bathroom was cramped. The two pools are the real stars. The smaller pool is slightly hotter and it has a built in recliner with air jets. The larger pool has a small area around a fountain with a few jets. Both pools are more for wading, floating; adults can stand anywhere since there is no deep end. They are not large pools but they were never crowded. Hotel Terme Patria is for you if you don't need to stay in the newest and trendiest spa hotel, but you want to fly under the radar for some R&R in Italy where you can sample the special waters of Abano Terme.
