We were very pleased we booked this hotel. It was in a good position across the road from the lake. As others have said, the hotel is very clean and the staff are polite and helpful. There are great views of the lake and mountains from the front of the hotel and views of the large garden and mountains at the back. The pool area was a pleasant place to relax. The room was very quiet and we slept well. The meals were mostly good.

We had a very enjoyable week at the Hotel Astoria and wished we had booked longer. The hotel was spotless, with clean bedding and towels daily. The lovely staff were so cheerful and friendly. We had a very enjoyable week at the Hotel Astoria and wished we had booked longer. The hotel was spotless, with clean bedding and towels daily. The lovely staff were so cheerful and friendly. I’m coeliac and it wasn’t a problem for them to make nice meals every evening, the pasta was particularly good and I had a good choice for breakfast too. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Beautiful location but improvements could be made. The location was superb, right across the road from the lake with a bus stop right at the door. Absolutely stunning! A few improvements however would improve things greatly. The showers were far too small, my husband & I are not big in size but even we struggled to get in or out. I was constantly hitting my arm off the soap dispenser. The bathroom was a good size but having a bidet in it limited the size of the shower. I am sure if the bathroom was re-configured a larger shower could be installed. A hand rail at one end of the swimming pool would have been helpful for people like myself with limited mobility. I found it quite difficult to get down the steps without anything to hold onto. We stayed half board and found the menu in the evening a little too restrictive. I don’t know why but the quality the second week was not as good as the first week. Breakfast was fine with more than enough choices. If we were to stay again we would just opt for bed & breakfast. This hotel still has an old fashioned key to access your room. We struggled with our room key for the whole holiday. You had to insert the key, push slightly before you turned the key. I really struggled to get it right but my husband was better at it than me. The hotel is family owned and we found them to be more than welcoming as were the staff, especially in the dining room. If some of the above improvements were to be made then this would increase the rating of this hotel.
