“Good place”

Our visit was successful. Everything went fine. Timining was perfect, not too hot and not too cool, in the end of September. Nice walking street to the old city and peaceful home for one week holiday.

This bright contemporary hotel overlooking the beach is about a 10-minute walk from the castle and Malcesine. Staff was friendly and accommodating – moving quickly from scooping ice cream at the outdoor patio to making drinks and serving coffee at the bar. The breakfast buffet was beautifully stocked with meats, cheeses, yogurts, cereal, eggs and with plenty of pastries. Tables are set up on the short pier to order drinks. Walk down the steps for an easier entry to the rocky beach. Strong morning winds made it an ideal launch spot for wind and kite surfers, available for rent and lessons close by. Watch the sun set from your balcony.

“A lovely stay”

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Europa (Sept 2019). The hotel is modern, comfortable and has everything you need. It is a 10/15 min walk into Malcesine which is ideal if walking off a meal. We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Europa (Sept 2019). The hotel is modern, comfortable and has everything you need. It is a 10/15 min walk into Malcesine which is ideal if walking off a meal. My recommendation to them would be to get a handful of cycles for guest use as the promenade is great for this. There was also a wedding on in the restaurant one day which was lovely to see but we think it would have been better for guests to be formally notified so that they could plan around it. Th team worked very hard and particular merit was to Raphael, Lorenzo and Carlotta - three very friendly and helpful team members. Overall a very great stay and nice to sit on the pontoon with drinks.

Good and bad points.. We have just returned from a weeks stay at Hotel Europa and would say it has its good points and it’s bad points. The room had most things we needed and was spotlessly cleaned every day. We did miss having a kettle and tea/coffee making facilities, but there was a mini bar fridge, thankfully. The aircon was just okay and the balcony was very small, but overall the room did the job. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, but we found the waiting on staff didn’t give off a very warm reception and weren’t very motivated. We didn’t receive any tea or coffees at breakfast on a morning unless we approached them and asked, they didn’t make an effort to come and ask you what you would like, you were more or less ignored. The tables were left and weren’t cleared until after breakfast so you had to sit where ever there was a clean one, which meant there wasn’t always space outside. The buffet style continental breakfast was pretty basic and one morning we arrived 15 mins before breakfast ended and there was barely anything left. Surely if breakfast is served until 10am, everything should be available until 10am? The hotel stated it had a gym, which is one of the reasons we booked it, as my husband likes to have a gym in the hotel. The gym was non-existent. It was one weights machine in a room that was unbearably hot. I don’t think they should be advertising this as a gym with so little equipment. The hotel was about 10/15 minute walk from the town centre, which was a lovely flat walk, with a path right along the lake. Perfect location for us as we like a little walk. Overall I don’t think we’d return to Europa but can’t fault the cleanliness and the reception staff.
