We have just returned from two weeks at this hotel. We had a lovely time. Yes some of the rooms are a bit dated but it is clean and the staff are lovely, especially in the restaurant. There was a lot of choice for breakfast. Dinner was chosen the night before, there were three options for starters and main, and two for dessert. There was also a salad bar Food was good and service excellent. This hotel is in a fantastic location, just a few minutes walk from the harbour and the ferries. 10 mins walk from the bus station. The only down side for us was the noise at night. We were over the pizza restaurant attached to the hotel and could be noisy at night, but it was mostly closed by 10pm so didn't really cause us too many problems.

Disappointing treatment from restaurant staff overshadowed an otherwise decent stay I stayed at this hotel for one week on a half-board basis. While the hotel itself has some positive aspects, my experience was significantly undermined by the behaviour of the head waiter on my first evening. On arrival at the restaurant, I politely requested a window table if one was available. The head waiter responded: “Senora, people have been coming here for 20 years and they have paid more money for their rooms than what you have. There is no option to change. This is your designated table.” When I asked whether a table change might be possible on any other evening during my stay, I was told a blunt “No.” I found both the tone and content of this response to be unnecessary, dismissive, and unprofessional. A simple explanation that tables were pre-allocated would have been sufficient; instead, I was spoken to in a manner that made me feel devalued as a guest. I raised the matter with the hotel proprietor that same evening and became visibly upset during the conversation. Despite this, no apology or acknowledgement was offered at any point during the remainder of my stay by either the head waiter or the proprietor. In my view, this reflects poorly on the standard of customer service and complaint handling. This incident has left a lasting negative impression on what should otherwise have been an enjoyable stay, and I believe the handling of guest requests and concerns falls below the standard expected of a hotel of this calibre.
