We stayed here as a family of four with our two children, aged 16 and 18, and really enjoyed our stay. After doing some research, we specifically requested one of the rooms with a mezzanine floor, and it worked really well for us. There were two single beds downstairs and a double bed upstairs, giving everyone plenty of space and privacy, with large glass wall with great blackout curtains, fantastic lighting and air-conditioning. Our room also had two patio areas, one on either side, which were not used by any other guests, so we had lots of extra outdoor space to ourselves. The room was lovely and clean, modern and bright, with amazing views over the lake. It was part of an extension at the back of the hotel. The only downside was that there wasn’t much storage for clothing, and there was no storage at all in the bathroom, so this could be improved. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice including fresh fruit, pancakes, cereal, freshly squeezed orange juice, bacon, eggs and toast. The location was ideal for us, particularly as we were travelling without a car. The train station and bus station were around a 25-minute walk away. We managed it even in the heat, but it could be a struggle for anyone with walking difficulties. We also caught the free bus to Gardaland and Movieland from the station, which was really convenient. The ferry was also within easy walking distance, making it easy to travel up and down the lake. The hotel is in a beautiful location right on the lake and just a short walk from two pebble beaches. The old town is also within easy walking distance, with lots of lovely restaurants. There is a small local shop selling drinks and snacks about 10 minutes away, while Lidl is around a 30-minute walk. The pool was lovely and perfect for cooling off and having a dip after a long day in the sun. It does close at 7pm, though, and we felt the opening hours could be a little longer. We also felt the area was safe enough for our children to go out for a while in the evening after we had returned to the hotel, which was a real bonus when travelling with older teenagers. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable about the local area and were always happy to give advice and information. The hotel had a lovely boutique, family feel, with a small team of staff who made us feel very welcome. A special mention to the three lovely ladies who looked after the breakfast restaurant each morning — they kept everything absolutely tip-top and worked incredibly hard. The cleaning team were also fantastic. Our room was kept beautifully clean throughout our stay and we received complimentary bottles of water every day, which was a lovely touch. The room also had a fridge, safe and TV. The TV didn’t have any English-language channels or smart TV facilities, but this wasn't an issue for us and is simply worth mentioning. Overall, we felt this hotel was on par with a 4-star hotel. We would recommend it to anyone, whether travelling as a couple, on your own or as a family. It has a lovely atmosphere, a great location and everything you need for a really enjoyable stay in Peschiera.

​We were absolutely thrilled with our stay at Hotel San Marco! The modern rooms and the entire property were extremely clean. The reception staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, taking the time to show us everything upon arrival. A big plus is the private parking lot right behind the building. The location is perfect: just a 5-minute walk to the beach and 10 minutes to the beautiful old town. The lake view from the pool and sun terrace is simply outstanding! ​The absolute heart of our stay: the two wonderful older ladies at the breakfast buffet! They managed the breakfast with so much love and passion. The fact that they spoke exclusively Italian was a true gift – as a guest, you gladly and respectfully adapted, and immediately felt the comforting warmth of being hosted by a real Italian family. It brought back the most beautiful and happiest childhood memories of holidays from the past. Simply heartwarming, authentic, and incredibly charming! We will definitely be coming back. ​Grazie mille per il bellissimo soggiorno!

The staff are lovely too and nothing is too much trouble. Great base for exploring.

We recently stayed here for my fiancé's 30th birthday. The hotel was around 30 mins transfer from Verona airport. The hotel itself is in a perfect location with stunning views. We paid for a terrace lake view room and it was worth every penny. The terrace was huge and the views, particularly early in the morning, were breathtaking. The rooms were large, very clean, modern and very welcoming. Comfy beds, great nights sleep. I am unsure if it would be different during peak season ie May-Sept but it was so quiet and chilled around the immediate hotel area and Lake Garda in general. Overall, it was incredible value for money. The breakfast was brilliant, lots of good options. Everything nice and warm. Again, stunning views from the outdoor breakfast area. The two older ladies were very attentive over the breakfast, always searching for what needed replacing food wise, so everything was fresh. The staff organised for a cake to be delivered to breakfast for the 30th celebration which was a great personal touch. Out of the hotel and turning left, you can walk up the beach where there are a few smaller bars and restaurants along the way, around 15 min walk max. Its a lovely route, lovely scenery and nice pit stops along the way. Out of the hotel and turning right, it's a 10 min walk into the main harbor and square where words wont do it justice on how nice it is. You have a large river with bars and restaurants either side that is amazing to relax and people watch. There are also lots of little markets and shops to potter around in with a lot of traditional food, ice cream and souvenir shops. We felt gravitated to this area because of its relaxed nature, very safe feeling and its hospitality options. The small town of Sirmione is 25 mins away in a taxi which is another beautiful day trip worth doing where you can experience a walkthrough of the historic castle, enjoy a boat ride of the lake and browse the usual traditional shops. They also have a famous fruit stand, it's worth a trip for this alone. Lastly, there is a zoo and a theme park as well nearby for those who wish to do some extra activities, both are brilliant and not too far away via taxi either. One thing I would mention is sometimes we found taxi's hard to get despite the hotel ringing them for us, so this might be even worse in peak summer but don't let that deter you, next time we'd just call the taxi's much more in advance than usual. Overall, this hotel is a perfect location right on the lake front for everything that you need. It is clean, modern, very quiet and a hotel we would 100% recommend to anyone visiting Lake Garda. It is fantastic value for money, 3* seems very harsh, I can only assume its due to its size? It is brilliant, you won't regret staying here, all the staff were fantastic and we can't thank them enough for making it a trip to remember.
