“Superb stay”

This is a superb little hotel. Its location is perfect - quietly tucked away, yet in the middle of it all. The staff work hard at this hotel and our room was spotlessly clean. I absolutely recommend Hotel Gorizia. You can’t go wrong staying here.

We stayed for 4 nights and really enjoyed our break. The hotel location is excellent, a few minutes from the orange line [ Rialto Stop). You can turn at the Co op and just carry on straight u. p the alley. It was a nightmare from the airport, no jet2 reps around to advise. We had to queue for the finger print check, but ththrough because no one told us otherwise we queued at all passports, but we didn't need to, you can go straight through. Once you have your tickets for the water bus, you have to go upstairs to get the water taxi ( again, no clear direction). The wait for the water bus is horrendously long ( we wa ited an hour and an half ) You can get an airport bus which is quicker and cheaper.,but not as scenic. I would recommend aNOT to buy tickets from Getyourguide for attractions as they are expensive and you can get tickets cheaper there. Also, be aware that Google maps do not take into account the ca. nals when navigating your way round. We loved our hotel, small and friendly, and lovely breakfasts. The rooms are very small, but lovely toiletries which are replenished daily. They brought us a kettle on request and extra pillows. The rooms were really warm though,apparently air condoning doesn't come on until June. There are some lovely restaurants around, but beware some have high cover charges. We really enjoyed the Accademia Gallery, well worth visit,and a lovely area. A visit to Munrano and Burano is a must. We got stopped by a guy from Venice Council who persuaded us to get in the free speedboat and go to 5murano glass factory. You are met off the bus by a guy from the glass fa£ctory and watching the workers blow the glass is amazing BUT the intention of the visit is to get you to buy something. UN Unless you are a millionaire it is beyond most peoples budget. You have to make your own way back from Munrano,but we had our boat tickets anyway ( not cheap at £50 for two). Venice is a beautiful city and I have asthma and limited mobility and found people very accommodating. Favourite restaurant Novo Antico Panif ( just over the rialto Bridge. We had Sea Bass which was carved at our table. Lovely vegetable Complimentary garlic bread. Doesn't look much from the outside, but a lovely traditional restaurant. Osterio de Nico ( homemade pasta ). Just before the hospital in a large sqare. And as for the ice cream ....l

We recently stayed 3 nights in this hotel & loved it, we will definitely return. The staff are very friendly & helpful indeed, with numerous language skills. The rooms are traditional in decor, but ample for what you need & serviced every day if you wish. Our only very minor complaint would be how warm the rooms are at night, even with heating off & windows open, as air con is only on certain times of the year, but this was a very minor matter for us. The hotel is 4 floors, but the lift only goes as high as the 3rd floor, but again, absolutely fine if you have no mobility issues. Breakfast was plentiful (continuously replenished) with hot & cold options, also sweet pastries, fruit, unlimited juices, yogurts & tea & coffee etc. This hotel is perfectly situated, several mins walk from the Rialto Bridge & the airport drop-off platform for the water bus to & from Marco Polo Airport. Going in the opposite direction from the hotel, St Mark’s Square is also only several minutes walk. The hotel is in the centre of San Marco & it’s wonderful getting lost down all of the little streets & being able to enjoy everything there is to offer down those lanes, from designer stores, cafes, restaurants & all kinds of shops. Venice, is was a joy to visit you & all you have to offer, we will return. Rooms: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Location: 5/5 Rooms Very traditional, but missing nothing you need. Very clean with plenty of storage & coat hangers. Bed a bit firmer than we’re used to, but absolutely fine. Plenty of towels in our spacious bathroom & complimentary toiletries available, along with spare toilet roll. Mini bar also available. Nearby activities Rialto Bridge, St Mark’s Square, Bridge of Sighs, along with numerous variety of shops, stalls, cafes & restaurants. Safety Not once were we worried or felt in danger, even in the dark down the narrow alleys as everything is pretty well lit. Saying that, pretty much anything we carried outside of the hotel was contained by myself in a small zipped cross body bag, my Husband only ever carried anything in his front pockets. You are bumped into with people passing down narrow alleys, so be on your guard. Walkability San Marco is the perfect area to walk everywhere & get lost down the numerous streets & alleys, perusing the multitude of shops, cafes & restaurants. It’s refreshing that cars/vehicles are not around. Food and drinks Plenty of choice of food & drink outlets from cafes, bars & restaurants. Trying the ice cream is also a must. Noteworthy details The area of San Marco is a delight, we loved our stay. Everything you need is within several minutes walk. The Orange Line water bus travels to & from Marco Polo airport, it takes roughly an hour & drops you/picks up minutes from this hotel. Hotel highlights Romantic, Quiet, Great value

Hotel Gorizia la Valigia is ideally located in Central Venice. It's a few minutes walk from the Rialto after getting the water taxi direct from marco polo Airport. 5 minute walk will get you to St Mark's square and the grand canal to soak up thd atmosphere, while having a drink and food from one of the many cafes and restaurants. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. Large Spotlessly clean room with authentic decor. Breakfast is lovely with ample of choices. The Breakfast room is quite small, so would recommend getting the 7-30 slot! My daughter and I had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend it! Overall a great little hotel and great value!
