I and my wife stayed at this hotel to have the best crab full-course dinner. We ad boiled hull body crab for each person, raw crab meat, baked crab, crab cooked in rice, and stewed crab. The price was not as reasonable as regular menu, about 200 USD higher in total for two , but we had unforgettable good experience. We did not feel it was unreasonably expensive. They serve crab only the time when there are customer's request. And they serve freshest crab sent from the fishery harbor taken at the morning. So you can make reservation only in the winter time when crab fishing is open. No other hotel or restaurants give this kind of service in the area. If you like crab, I strongly recommend you to stay at this hotel. The building is old fashioned Japanese style. But it is worth visiting

1泊2日の家族旅行で伺いました。明治17年創業とあって建物や内装をはじめとして雰囲気は素晴らしかったです。一方でサービス面が少し微妙だったと思います。家族で食事中も、仲居さんが食べ終わった食器をすぐに片付けようとして会話を中断させられることが多々あった反面、食事後はしばらく食べ終わった食器が放置されていて、無理に片付ける必要はなかったのではないかと少し残念でした。それ以外は満足です。 I went on an overnight trip here with my family. 1泊2日の家族旅行で伺いました。明治17年創業とあって建物や内装をはじめとして雰囲気は素晴らしかったです。一方でサービス面が少し微妙だったと思います。家族で食事中も、仲居さんが食べ終わった食器をすぐに片付けようとして会話を中断させられることが多々あった反面、食事後はしばらく食べ終わった食器が放置されていて、無理に片付ける必要はなかったのではないかと少し残念でした。それ以外は満足です。 I went on an overnight trip here with my family. This hotel was established approximately 130 years ago, and its atmosphere is superb. On the other hand I'm a little bit disappointed about its poor service like that the attendant would try to clear away our finished dishes immediately and our conversation was suspended repeatedly. But after our banquet, most of dishes were remained as it is on the table. I was so sorry seeing it, because it was unnecessary to clear our table immediately while our conversation. But I'm basically satisfied with here.

We stayed here for one night. I heard that this Japanese-style hotel which we call "Ryokan" in Japan started in 1884. We can see the magnificent Japanese-style garden through a front lobby which has big columns made from trees after receptionist's very polite welcome. At the corner of a front lobby, there also are some exhibition e.g., many pictures, signboards, Japanese traditional stringed instrument, medals presented from Japanese emperor etc. We can see them displayed in any time. Haiya Ryokan consists of new and old building connected by corridor. I guessed that new building have executive rooms when I stopped by there.Although we stayed in an old building because of cheaper, we could felt relaxed due to tatami and well-lighted windows. Daiyokuzyo public bath were not so large but very clean and good bathwater. Dinner and breakfast served in our room were both Japanese seafood meals that was very fresh and delicious. Our maid who helped us with anything, especially preparation for dining and making bed, all day while we were staying was very kind and friendly. If you think you want experience Japanese accommodation, I would recommend here.

“Warm Hospitality, good hub to see the beauty of the Enchizan coast”

Onsen is good but not much view, since ryokan is among the clusters of ryokan. we stayed in 3rd floor, higher floor may have better view. young staff are cheerful though less experienced. Dinner & breakfast in private dining room. Cuisine is full of local ingredients, we did not opt for the more expensive crab meal, just a crab kaiseki meal. for we think we could have better value in the crab restaurants by the seaside. Yes we did.
