this hotel is very comfortable and has everything you need for a good stay in Hiroshima. The hotel is perfectly located very nearby. The memorial park and some rooms even have a view of the dome. Location is also good for purposes of local public transportation. The rooms are spacious for Japan standard, and quite comfortable. The breakfast is very varied and delicious. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Overall, our stay at the RIHGA Hotel Hiroshima was unfortunately disappointing. At first glance, the impressive building in a prime downtown location creates an excellent impression: clean, well-maintained, featuring a spacious lobby, international standards, a smooth check-in process, and friendly, attentive staff. Up to that point, everything seemed perfectly fine. We were traveling as a family of four, with two adults and two children, and had booked two rooms in the same category several weeks in advance. At the time of booking, we also requested that the rooms be located close to each other. Unfortunately, we never received a response to that request. Upon arrival, we learned that the room category we had booked consisted of corner rooms, which naturally cannot be adjacent. A prior notice about this would have been helpful. As a result, we had to walk the entire length of the corridor to move between our room and our children's room. Even more disappointing was the fact that one of the rooms appeared to be a former smoking room, or at the very least had a noticeable lingering cigarette smell. After we raised the issue, the hotel arranged for an additional cleaning, but the odor remained clearly detectable. The biggest disappointment, however, was the restaurant. The advertised opening hours do not seem to reflect the period during which the full service is actually available. Although breakfast was officially served until 10:00 a.m. and guests could enter until 9:30 a.m., replenishment of the buffet had effectively stopped shortly after 9:00 a.m. When we arrived for breakfast around 9:00 a.m., a significant portion of the buffet was already depleted and no longer being refilled. Additionally, it was somewhat puzzling that, although the hotel clearly had honey available, guests had to specifically request it. Why this was the case remains unclear. Considering the prices charged, the value for money was simply not there. Our experience at dinner was no better. The restaurant's opening hours were listed until 9:30 p.m., with last orders accepted until 9:00 p.m. However, when we arrived at 8:30 p.m., the buffet service had already been discontinued, and we were presented with only a limited à la carte menu. I ordered a steak with pilaf rice, while the children ordered fried chicken with potato slices and sausages. My "steak" had the size of a baseball-diameter and the “potato slices” turned out to be ordinary French fries. My meal arrived first, but without a knife, which I had to request separately. The children's meals were served after mine, on paper plates and with plastic cutlery. The fries were only lukewarm. Overall, the dining experience fell well below the standard and price level one would expect from a hotel of this category. In conclusion, while the hotel benefits from an excellent location and makes a strong first impression, our experience concerning the room quality, communication, and food service significantly detract from the overall experience. For these reasons, I unortunately cannot rate this hotel higher than 3 out of 5 stars.

“Good location, old hotel”

Good location , convenient if you're traveling by bus, bus centre is right next to the hotel. Room was clean and bed was comfy,but facilities are quite old. Hotel guests have to pay to use gym and swimming pool.

The view from the guestroom over the city and the Seto Inland Sea is breathtaking. The room including bathroom is spacious and clean. Nothing to complain. The view from the guestroom over the city and the Seto Inland Sea is breathtaking. The room including bathroom is spacious and clean. Nothing to complain. As for the breakfast the major issue is that it is a set menu; I got only a croissant and fine but very litte amount of dishes. I would prefer if they cound prepare high-quality buffet for selected guests (well they are almost forein ones). Moreover, during my stay the museum of art was under renovation which prevented me from visiting there. The staff could not inform me of that. Really a pity.
