“I couldn’t ask for more”

Centrally located with lovely rooms, great facilities and the best staff. This hotel is VERY reasonably priced for a luxury experience. I couldn’t recommend it more.

The proactiveness of their Assistant Manager, Shigesato Nakano to find a solution upon our check in, prevented what could have been a disastrous stay at the hotel. Upon check in, we were allocated a smoking room on a smoking floor, by the hotel, as indicated by Agoda. Having made non such request, the condition of the initial room was highly unacceptable and unsuitable for a 5 nights stay from Dec 18-23, 2024. It did take 2 hours for the hotel to find a resolution and we were assigned to another non smoking room, a family suite as it was the only room available. Otherwise, the location of the hotel is excellent ( especially the underpass to the stations, subways and shopping areas), the upgraded room was comfortable, clean and great. Bfast was excellent too with the choices of Japanese cuisine ( Hokkaido) and Western options too. Airport coaches drops and pick up from the hotel (2 mins walk) Thanks again to Shigesato for a great service recovery solution to the situation, With much gratitude and thanks. Jonathan

“Old hotel”

The rooms are relatively small, and the hotel is old, but the hotel location is good. I booked a normal room but at checkin they gave smokers room, which was very bad. The hotel employees do not speak good English. It’s close to business building.

We were excited to stay at Grand Hotel in Sapporo, as it came highly recommended for families, but unfortunately, our experience didn’t meet expectations. While the hotel’s entrance is impressive and gives the impression of luxury, the rooms were quite disappointing. They are very old and outdated, with a musty smell in the bathroom that was hard to ignore. The cleanliness was also lacking, which made the overall experience less comfortable. The windows in the rooms faced either an office building or an inside courtyard, which made us feel like we were looking out from a prison window. Additionally, the ceiling was very low, which made the space feel cramped, and it was evident the hotel hadn't undergone any significant renovations in quite some time. While the room did have enough space for three beds, the layout was odd, and we had to move the furniture around ourselves just to create enough space to move around comfortably. Overall, the stay didn’t live up to the family-friendly expectations, and we were hoping for a more modern and comfortable experience. For the price and reputation, we expected much better accommodations, and we wouldn’t recommend this hotel for families looking for a comfortable, clean, and modern stay in Sapporo.
